is it just me or do hispanics do incredably tacky things to there cars... like put huge nike swoshes on the back of there cars... paint all the trim yellow..... just stuff like that.... now i am not hating on ANYBODY i have no problem with hispanics... in fact i have more mexican friends than i do white friends.. i am asking this to see if anybody else noticed it... let me know....

oh hell yess.....how about a yellow chrome caddy......or a 85 monte carlo with 22" wires on it that makes it look like it's 4wheel drive

Maybe this is true where you live, but here in O-town...Whiteboys are known for their tacky cars...Ive seen a BMW Z3 with more than 50 decals on it, for example, sublime, tool, blink 182, etc...I saw this Celica with a custom decal saying..."no bags, no switches...Just Niggaz and Biatches"...Who was driving you might ask...Fukin O.P. Few weeks ago me & a bud were leaving his house & got behind 2 VERY inebriated mexicans in a truck. They were doing like 10 in a 65. It was so funny, and weaving all over the roads, so I got behind them and followed them & called the police. The cops were all askin me what kind of truck it was & a description of the people, so I told them truck make, year, and model-then I was like, "& I'm willing to bet the driver's last name is MEDINA". They were like "How do you know?" I said, b/c it's scrawled across the back glass in Old English, you know... in case he forgets or some-thing man" hahaha, the cops were rolling on the other end of my phone.

Anyhoo, they orchestrated a capture, pulled them over and arrested the occupants of the truck.

And by the way, they were on their way to a gas station to buy MORE beer.

Hey Pimpin...why tap dance around it? It IS mexicans that do that shit to their cars...at least around here. Yeah...white guys and black guys and asian guys do it too, but mexicans seem to do the crazy weird shit that makes me scratch my head and think "who the f@ck thought that was cool?". Like a guy that lives a couple blocks from me at school who's got an '80s F-150 that's slammed on kicked out 14" wire wheels with a huge spoiler across the back of the bed and a huge Pro Stock scoop on the hood...I'm talking about the huge ones that stick up about a foot about the hood. Oh yeah...he's also got one of those pissing Calvin stickers in which Calvin is pissing on the words "La Migra". I'm seriously considering calling the INS and we'll see what he thinks about La Migra. Now please don't misunderstand...I don't have a problem at all with mexicans...in fact I think they get screwed working jobs that white folks don't want to. But I do see the ridiculously tacky things they do to their cars in greater numbers than others.

Hell, I've even caught myself refering to spanish as "speaking mexican" (although technically mexican spanish is unique from castilian (sp?) spanish so that may be technically accurate) . Ok, I think I need to say something here. I am Spanish (from Spain) and Cherokee. FYI, Mexican spanish is considered slang and Spain spanish (Castilian) as proper. Think along the lines of ebonics and the clipped British upper-crust accent. There is that much of a difference in Mexican vs Spain spanish just for starters alone. Please consider that everyone has their own personal taste and what they think is cool. Most of it does have to do with their culture and what is considered cool in that culture. Everyone stereotypes styles of cars, be it ricer, lowrider, red neck, etc. I understand his point but you also have to understand that others will be offended at his unintended racisim. Everyone is racisit to one degree or another whether you will admit to it or not. I stated unintended because of what he wrote in his posts and that he was just saying that he just noticed a certain "style" of car he didn't like. I understand that you're upset and when I read the post, I didn't like it either. After reading and understanding he was writing about cars and NOT people then I was "okay" with it. I don't agree with his personal taste but that's HIS personal taste. I've been envolved with the lowrider scene for years and I also like ALL types of customizing from lowriders to hot rods to 4x4's, you name it. But then again, that's MY personal taste.

What are you talking fool.... I'd love to have the "Love Machine" from Cheech and Chong.... I've seen some really nice low riders or other types of cars a hispanic influence. In most cases I will say that most hispanic cars are just silly looking, some are down right WACK. Black brings up a good point that it is someones taste and that should be respected. Maybe on day I'll talk to one of these guys and see why they do what they do. I have a language barrier at this time, it'll help when I learn spanish.

So, most of them are an eye sore, but it's personal prefference and you have to respect that just a little bit.

True, but you also have to understand that people are a tad jumpy these days about anything one might consider "racist". I'm NOT saying you are hun, but you are to a certain degree. But not in the typical "bad" way. It's just human nature and you can't fight Mother Nature. It's sad to consider it common place, but it does happen. For me, I personally don't like southerners because they have an accent that irritates me. Doesn't make sense, does it? One of the girls my friend works with is from Georgia with a THICK accent. I cannot have a conversation with her for long BUT she IS one of the sweetest persons I know. I generally like HER, but not her accent. Same goes for Latin men. I LOVE latin men, dark haired, dark eyed, dark complected and tall, just turns me on, for NO reason. That's just what I'm physically attracted to. No logical sense why, just does. But I've also gone out with men because I really liked their pesonalities, regardless if they were my type or not. In that sense, liking or not liking something or someone just because, makes me a "racisit" too. If you were to know me, I am FAR from the typical explanation. I judge people by their personalties NOT for what they look like/are. Same goes for your opinion on that style. You don't like that style and just made an observation about it. You can't take everyone's opinion to heart, sweetie. I was almost offended when I read the begining post but when I read it, I understood. Others will too even if they don't post a reply here.

b. Most AMERICAN "puerto ricans" or otherwise hispanics seem to think there's some big "protect our latino brotheren" thing going on which ONLY exists in americanized latinos (again from my experience).

d. I have seen some of the UGLIEST cars in the world that lots of people LOVE... and I would NEVER EVER sit there and make fun of it... even that "ugly" civic someone posted up...

Hispanics and PLENTY OF OTHER RACES make cars in the same style... and if you don't like it fine... but I say... park your car next to theres and start talking about all the work YOU PERSONALLY have done to it and to what end... then ask them to do the same...

I think what you'll find is that most of those "lame" cars have THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of hours of labor into them... and most of the stuff IS done VERY nicely... most of which is 1 off and WAY cooler than buying a 500 dollar exhaust and saying you've "modded" your car... Whether you like it or not there probobly isn't 1 "mexican" car out there that doesn't have TONS more work into it than you and WAY WAY more talent sitting behind the wheel too..

Not trying to bust on you but they do SERIOUS sh!t to there cars... not catalog shopping like most of the honda "tuners" I've met.

If I had to count the times I've seen TOTALLY different headlights or whatever part blended into another car BEAUTIFULLY by a "mexican" I'd be counting for a LONG LONG TIME... not to mention the amount of motor work they sometimes have in addition...

Sure it can go wrong and sure even when done emmaculately it won't be everyone's style... but you still have to appreciate the work...

I was at a VW meet and some hispanic dudes pulled in, in a WAY latino'd car... checkerboard paint/dash... BIG wing all on a buick... everyone was laughing and making fun... but I bet he puts in more hours on his p.o.s. car than ANY of them do on theirs...

nonovurbizniz, you rock ass. yea, I dont have a drop of Hispanic in me but I still get mad when people call latinos 'Mexicans' as a blanket statement. I live near DC, and NOBODY hispanic from around here is mexican. Theyre mostly from central america, and are very nice, hardworking people.
I must admit, here in Prince George's County, where I live to go to college, there are a whole hell of a lot of hispanic males driving around in total POS's with hilarious mods I cant help but point out to my passengers....I mean, we're talkin early 90's sentras with GIANT yellow APC banners on the rear glass, seemingly random-colored pinstriping all over the place, and those $15 plastic shiny faux-chrome hubcap covers from Pep Boys. Which is too bad, because when I go to california, where I'm originally from, I always see reallly well done, custom rides - in a 'hispanic' style, which I honestly think looks silly, but I know those guys have poured their heart, soul, and a lot of $$$ into those lowriders, which I totally respect. Granted, most hispanics in PG county are relatively low-income, however, and do not have the resources available to mod their rides more 'tastefully'. And also, yeah I completely acknowledge that there are a ton of hispanic tuners that do things the 'traditional' way, that is to say, as most of us like to mod our cars. Anyhow, I guess I'm just ranting but what I want to say is that I think its fine that people are trying to get their cars to stand out in some way and look cool to members of their own crowd....
