leather is from a dead cow... it's a skin...
vinyl is a synthetic material made to look and feel LIKE leather... leather is "better" but as long as it doesn't look too cheap I like vinyl better. Cloth is my fav. though.

I agree with nonovurbizniz. Leather is over rated. Cloth is much better. During the summer it doesn't get too hot and your skin doesn't stick to it.

well we know whats on someones mind...
anyways I, as some others have stated, prefer cloth. I looked into getting leather but decided against it because it would get too hot (even with tint), would cost $500, and the red color insert I wanted didn't match the exterior. I'm glad it didn't and saved my money, now I can get some audio equipment. I don't think leather is worth it unless you buy the car for luxury in the first place ie: lexus, bmw, mercedes.

someone has their mind in the gutter ![]() i prefer cloth too. i've been in many cars but nothing compares to the cloth seat, plus your ass doesn't slide all over the seat like it does on leather.

plus after time leather and vinyl cracks like crazy from exposure and then you just have to either replace the seats or cover them with cloth anyway defeating the purpost.....plus leather smells bad...lol

I like the leather seats cuz more comfortable and waterproof.
I dun like the cloth seats cuz they look cheap and not comfortable well. However the cloth isn't a waterproof from the rain if they sitting down the seat. How is serious that peoples want to have a leather seats cover to put on this car like LX or EX. I think cloth is too much warm on the back in the winter and also summer. It make too many stain in the seat if they spilled all over. It hard to clean the cloth seats. Syl. Leather seats is easy to clean. Some American SUV like Chevy, GMC, Cadillac and Ford had a leather seats on it and doesn't a sunroof. Some of them have sunroof. have a sunroof. Do u understand this? |

If you scotchguard your cloth seats they will be WAY more water proof then leather (water will damage the crap out of leather)... not quite as stain resistant but if you keep a rag in the car to soak up a spill before it soaks into the seat it will be fine...
Also just to be fair... leather and vinyl BOTH outlast cloth by YEARS... even the best cared for cloth seats will wear out eventually (not long) where as properly maintained leather can last FOREVER... seriously... forever.

I don't like the look of them but they're NASTY...
You can NOT stain them and they can be used for diving jackets if needed... A buddy of mine had them in his jeep... drove around w/no top in the rain... they were awesome... they get dirty pretty easy though.. and they're hard to clean. *edit* ok that's a little confusing... they don't stain from spilled liquids but dirt and dust gets imbedded in them pretty easy... and actually now that I think about it you may be able to through them in the washer machine but I'm not sure.*/edit*

If I were to redo my interior, I would try to get alcantara. The upkeep on it is a bit, but it looks and feels awesome, and breathes really well. Alcantara is that suede-like material that some racing seats are made out of.
