With a bone stock(as close as you can get it in a civic) h22 in a 3dr hatchback civic running a 13 second 1/4 should not be a problem. Your buddy needs to figure out what wrong with his car. Is he drag racing on sparetire dounuts?

Keep in mid this 200hp 151lbs/ft engine is going into a car that will weigh less the 2000lbs with engine. So that's 1hp for every 10lbs of car. A 1995 corvette has 350hp and weighs 3100lbs, if you look the #'s the civic with an h22 in it is running close to the same hp to weight ratio.
