You do realize that a 215/45/17 is roughly 1.2" larger diameter than 205/40/17, or did you mean 215/40 and 205/45 (although still not quite the same diameter)???

I believe that 205's are measured on 6.5" wheels, I'm not sure what 215's are measured on. If 215 is measured on a 7" wheel then a 205 on a 7" will give a smaller diameter than on a 6.5", so keep that in mind too.

For the fun factor, I'd go with 215 over 205.
