Northeast HS Meet

Hi. Cashizslick and I have been planning a meet for the Northeast area. Anyone is welcome to come. The roads are still kind of messy in these parts in terms of sand and rocks and I'm sure that there are things that people are going to need or want to get done to their cars first. We were looking to have the meet on Saturday 4/26 or the following Saturday 5/3. This would be based on the weather. In terms of the people that Cash and I have discussed this with already, everyone has pretty much agreed that the Berlin Turnpike is the best place to meet. For those of you that are not familiar with the area, the BTP is huge in terms of the import scene. There's also a pretty decent amount of domestics there as well. One thing that several people had concerns about including us was the fact that if we were all to meet up there and be hanging out in a parking lot, there's a good chance that the cops would give us trouble. Last night I picked a very easy to find location off of I 91 that is close to the BTP but not on it. That way we could all meet up and not have to worry about the police bothering us and then we could all head over to the BTP. I've never driven into Boston from Ct but I did drive to Grafton from here and that took me an hour to get there. From there my friend drove us into Boston and that took us 45 min. I'll say near two hours. Lemme see if I can get you an actual street address as to where we are going to meet. We were going to meet at a McDonalds near some other restaurant but I don't have the actual address because it's right off the highway.

I'm looking into the address thing as we speak. And no one should worry about how "blah" there car will look Think about it this way, this whole time we've just all been conversing on this board. It's really all about us all just meeting and having fun.

I just figured that it would be easier to get the address of that restaurant because if you look up McDonalds in the yellow pages, every one in a 20 mile radius or something comes up. The name of the restaurant is Luna Pizza and the address is 127 Berlin Road, Cromwell, Ct 06416. And they do deliver. j/k

ha... of course. hopefully i'll have another cobra by may and we can do some racing if there isn't a cop parked on the side of the friggin road every 200 feet. they're assholes. i saw a white 86 mustang get pulled over twice the same night.

Yeah me and my brother always much fun of eachother because I'm a "ricer". He's got an 86 Grand National. It's all in good fun. He races that. He pulls about 11 in that almost stock. Yeah, the cops are huges assholes up there but at the same time they kind of have to be. The only safe place to really race up there is at the light right near Verizon. Providing that there's not all sorts of traffic on the road, the visibility is really good.

^same deal... my buddy has a 70 impala 400... it can't turn worth it's life but as long as the road is straight he BURNS me... it's fun though cuz I can burn him on certain roads cuz of the turns.

I used to harrass all my friends to race me (1 mustang mach 1, an 88 ford 5.0, a 90 eagle talon tsi) even though I didn't have a chance.

My buddy with the tsi raced me never running it past 3k and he BURNED ME BAD.... goddam 1.6 liter (this was in my sentra though)

I may show depending on what the fam is doing that weekend.

Impalas are bad ass cars too. There's a newer one up at the BTP that's just sick. Yeah, the GN can't do turns for shit. It does some sick burnouts though. That's when a wheeley happens. Talk about kicking in the turbo. Well if you can make it, it will be nice to meet you.

Well, its a 3 hours, 14 minutes ride for me.............. So I will think about it and let you guys know tomorrow. Gotta look up the schedule at work and make sure I'm off, if not, better start filling out the Personal day off form, Huh?

The only thing that makes the date not definite would be the weather so it would be either 4/26 or 5/3.

hmmmm....that's quite a haul for me. That would probably be at least an 8 hr drive. I think I might just keep my eyes peeled for HS people at Carlisle's car show in May.

LOL. So I finally got my Accord back on the road. Sort of. There's a lot more that I need to do to it. But anyway, I had it on the highway the other evening and I was in the left lane doing about 80. I passed a few cars on my right. One was an older Maxima w/blue headlights and a big ass aluminum wing. And then there was another car about 2 cars length behind me. This asshole in the Maxima makes it a point to totally cut off this guy behind me, ride my ass then pull up along the side of my car to try to race me. Mind you, it's around 7 at night so there's a decent amount of traffic on the road. I'm not going to be an ass and drive all recklessly and this dude was just being a dick. So I gave him the finger out of my sunroof because the tint on my windows is pretty dark. And then this jackass follows me to Blockbuster and he's about 3 years younger than myself. But then he just sat there in his car...? Was he going to try and beat up some girl because I wouldn't race him? That was pretty gay of him to follow me.

Um, I would be a little concerned if people started passing out at the meet. Unless we were at a bar or something but that's still a definite cause for concern because people are driving and whatnot.

hahaha. same thing happened to me in my old accord. this d***head got on my ass as i was getting off the highway. so i tapped my brakes so he would ease off. i wasnt in the mood to race or start anything because it was a long work day. but the dude didnt ease up so i kept driving the speed limit. i pulled into the self serve gas station to fill up. and the dude pulled into the gas station too. but he just creeped slowly past my car and to one of the parking spots. i guess he couldnt see what i looked like because my windows were too dark. so he just parked his car waiting for me. i could hear him revving his engine. i just laughed and was gonna get out of my car to talk with this a$$. as soon as i stepped out of my car and was standing straight up he sped off. hahaha. i dont think he wanted to mess with me anymore. he looked like a pretty skinny punk. and i am like 5'8 and about 200lbs. i laughed so hard because he peeled out of the gas station.

I'll **** with people REALLY bad if they ride my a$$. It's progressive just like when I come up on someone fast... I usually tap my brakes just to trip the light a couple of times... if that doesn't work I JAM on the brakes then speed up... If you come in for more at that point I will make you suffer.... I have gone from 90-30 with tires smoking a couple of times...

PEOPLE MUST LEARN TO RESPECT YOUR SPACE.

People feel all autonomis in a car... like their invincivle or unaccountable... F all that... you don't take a hint I'll make it clear.

However this is probobly dumb and may one day catch up with me... I was at a VW meet with a buddy of mine telling a similar story and this kid is like "I used todo that the time... then one night on the way home from a meet some dude in a amg came up on me.... I ****ed with him.... he followed me for an hour he SHOT AT MY CAR...."

I don't know if the story is truebut it is possible...

Oh and P.S. If the car legitametly wants to go faster than me and I am holding him up I MOVE INSTANTLY... usually before they even have a chance to ride my ass.

It's pretty safe to assume that if someone messes with me, they're going to get twice as more shit than they gave me. In terms of what nonovurbizniz said about respecting the space of others, AMEN to that. I didn't do what I did to my car because I want all these assholes pulling up alongside me and trying to race me in unsafe conditions. People that do things of that sort of the ones that make the rest of us in this "scene" look bad.

Ok guys/girls...Does everyone know where 91 is? Or how to get to it? The initial meet up spot is going to be at a McDonalds right off of 91. Whether you're coming from North or South, it is going to be exit 21. If your coming from the North you're going to take a right off the exit and then the McD's is pretty much right there on your left along w/another restaurant. If you're coming from the South, again it's a right off the exit. It's just a little ways more down on the left as opposed to it being right there when coming from the North. Then we would all head over to the BTP which is exit 18 off of 91S.
