Here in vermont it is required to have one on the front bumper, but cops cant stop u for not having one. they have to stop u for something else and then they will ticket u for not having one. When i got into a fender bender like 2 years ago, the bracket that holds it on the front bumper broke and so i cant attach it back onto the bumper.

, so that's my excuse to the cops if they stop me and ticket me for one.
