But, if you're a normal American who doesn't have the luxury of burning gas like there's no tomorrow, then maybe you should consider the SOHC instead of the DOHC. If you've got 10K to play with, then my suggestion is to look into a 93-95 LX coupe. You should be able to find a nice one for around 3K. That leaves you plenty of cash to upgrade what's important. It's got most of the creature comforts as the EX (ps, ac, pw) minus the sunroof, d16z6, and EX/Si tranny. Now, with the extra cash you have left over you need to go buy a used d16z6/tranny/ecu. Everyone's dumping these in favor of the almighty b-series, so you should be able to find one pretty cheap. Then you do all the normal bolt stuff and get a better cam and ecu reprogram. When all is said and done you should still have plenty of cash left in your pocket and a relatively quick, comfortable ride that'll still be gettin around 28 mpg.

No offense taken. I asked the question cause I simply didn't know what they got. Besides I currently drive a Jeep for off-road purposes only so I think that a Honda with the best engine will get a lot better gas mileage than I have ever gotten. The best mileage I've got in my years of driving has been like 23 on the highway. I've had a Toyota truck with the 22r, a 74 Bronco with a hopped up 302, a 97 Mustang GT, and now my Jeep with a 4.0L I6. So the MPG question was out of curiosity not concern.
Now right now you are speaking giberish to me as I haven't learned all the engine codes thus far. Let me say this, I don't wanna buy a car to later swap the engine. I do enough swapping in my Jeep to quench my thirst and frankly don't have time for it. I'm sure its easy and what not but between school and work I don't have much time for anything.
I wasn't necessarily talkin about Civcs although from what I've seen I tend to favor them in the 2 door model more than the Accord. I've been looking in the local Auto Trader and Ludes around here aren't too cheap.
Now that I know what model Civic to look for, EX, what about Accords. What model would be what I'm looking for. Sorry I'm new to all this but bear with me, I'm a fast learner. Thanks for all the help so far.
