Mine dream car right now is 427 Cobra replica. If fact I hope to start building it this spring or summer. After that it would be a either a 58-67 roadster vette, or a classic import like a jag or ferarri.

It is reasonable... plenty reasonable, at that... if only insurance wasnt such a b*tch I could pay cash for the Supra and t-88... and the 330 over the m3 because, well... do some research on the M3 engine... it is race-tuned to 333hp, fragile as hell, 11.5:1 compression ratio... not to mention heavier than the 330...

you need ALOT of mods for a single turbo to be more power efficent over a twin setup... not to mention you arnt going to autoX with a single turbo(too much lag)

Oh- and the 2003BMW is fairly reasonable too... well, itd be like a 2001 but I could do it if I felt like drawing from my stock account... which I dont...

Hmm I hope you aren't trying to say going single on a Supra causes you to lose power... you TUI again?
![]() As far as the turbo lag in auto-x... thats why you keep the RPMs up ![]()

you need to do some more research.. if you put one turbo that big on a stock motor you are going to have horrible lag and no low end power, thus making a slower car, and in autoX you need to have good mid range power, because thats where you are going to keep the engine.. in the 60-85% rmp range of the car. you do not want any lag. single turbos are for high power drag cars. you are looking at 15k into the motor for a good running single turbo setup.

Ok I will clarify a bit more-
The Supra would be fitted with the T-88H for drag/highway purposes The BMW would have a smaller but still large T-66 for auto-x... maybe a T-66 would still be too large to auto-x the bimmer, but then I could road-course it and slaughter everyone on straight-aways... note- the supra block would remain stock, but work would need to be done to reinforce the 3l bmw engine

I have to go with the WRX STi. Either that, or an S2000. I would love to have either.
Now, if you are talking dream cars, that would have to be the GT-R34! Skylines forever! ![]() |

i don't know how well the 330 would take to the t-66. of course anything can be done with enough money. but if you want to turbo, i would stick with the Active Autowerks one, or go with their new s/c kit on an e36 m3! 330 hp or so, and about 350 lb/ft torque ![]() but for the 330, rms makes a good sc kit as well, and even dinan does too( albeit a little overpriced ). if you want a serious auto-x car go with the e30 m3. even stock, that thing will simply amaze you! |

Yes, they are great on the street because they are so light and nimble, yet boast a lot of power. They rule at the Street test that the Magazines do.

it has to be one of the best designed cars(besides cooling) of the 90's for performance. but you re arange some stuff in the engine bay, and get the air flowing through there good and can bring the operating temp down pretty quick

true...but i still don't think it would beat a e30 m3. those cars were made for that ![]() but i wouldn't mind having a 95 rx7....i love those cars. i'd get one if maintenance wasn't so bloody expensive. those bi-rotary turbos are amazing...but your screwed if you have to fix something under that hood ![]() |

i usta think that, but i talked to a guy who has one and beat on it, he's on his 3rd engine(fianlly got cooling right) and he's only spend 6k on new 2 engines and 2 new turbo and new apex seals, ported engine, and a huge aluminum radiator. i know its alot, but when you think about it, if you blew 2 engines how much would it set you back. i think rx7's problems are a little inflated to make other cars seem better. rx7's are so nible its scary, i think it will own a e30 m3, but have never seen one run, so i cant tell ya. i know that no one can tail a rx7 through twistys.

hmm...interesting. i guess it all kind of depends on where you are too i guess. was this guy located in or near a big city? up here there's no mechanics that could work on a rotarty system...so if you found one, he'd be expensive. but it larger places i could see the demand for that type of mechanic increasing thus bringing down labor costs. i don't know though ![]() as far as the e30 m3 vs the rx7....stock for stock the m3 would take it. but with a few k in mods down to both the rx7 will probably take the m3 cause money will go a lot farther on a japanese car than a bmw...plus the rx7 is turbo'd too. straightline: hands down rx7 though. it would be a good race though to watch the two fly through some twists though. but from the factory few cars will handle like an e30 m3...too bad they stopped making them:( my friend and i are twin turbo charging his m3 though....talk about a nimble beast ![]() just curious: do you know how much an rx7 weighs? i would assume pretty light...i know the m3 is pretty light as well. both are great cars though...i'd have a tough time choosing one if i had to pick ![]() |

wow...so they are damn near equal in wieght...that's pretty cool. yeah...i wouldn't really factor in the e36 m3 into this little battle, the e30 m3 and the rx7 would both own it ![]() so i think it would be a pretty impressive event to watch an e30 m3 and a rx7 go at it...i think it would come down to the driver agreed? and the 95 lightweight which is know as the m3 ltw...is purely a race version of the e36 m3. very nice cars....more power and lighter as well. the ltw would be a good match too. |

whats gonna put a bit more favor on the FD is near perfect weight transfer(its technicaly a mid engine car, since the engine sits behind the front axles i believe). but i would love to see how they would match up.

e30 m3s are 50/50 wieght distribution too...same with the whole 3 series line 92-99. so i think the only differences will come down to the driver. have you ever driven an rx7? i want to real bad...they look like a lot of fun ![]() |

dream cars?
1971 Hakusuka Skyline GTR - only 1500 made with the GTR badge. Downside? Do you have 20 grand?
1989 R31 GTS-R Skyline - only 800 made. And yes, in 1989 Nissan still produced the R31 bodystyle, even tho, they were making the R32. Downside? none, really, 11 grand.. |
