Ok, I'm one to change my mind mannnnnny times.

Well, I was checking out some prices on osaka motors, and I noticed the H22 (JDM) version wasn't too expensive. My question is, whats the difference between the JDM and USDM? I know the JDM makes about 20 hp more, is it because of the higher compression ratio? Or are their engines less restrictive (in exhaust perspective..) I was thinking of purchasing a USDM (w0a cheaper), and doing some flow mods. Passing smog will not be a thing, I've got that covered.... any ideas?
