ya, but whats in that pic is synthetic, you can tell by the way it lays, try to go at least 40% cotton (not sure about thread count, ie, weight) . Stay away from rayon (doesn't put up with UV well), nylon is fine. The little designs can be done with balsa, epoxy, rubber (easiest, IMO, in that case), even styrofoam (500 dense)

IMO, I would still go with leather. If you live South, Custom Soft Trim is the way to go. Avoid Catzskins, they feature rather poor stitching for the cost.
