when do the problems stop???????

Today I installed my Aeromotive FPR. Its great, it actually keeps the fuel pressure at what I set it at unlike the HRC thing. Also my boost controller started working again for like the 4th time and I took the car out and as I was trying to see how the car handled at 9psi boost the car started bogging down at 5krpms. 1k-4.9krpms its fine...5k-5.5krpms it bogs down 5.6k-7.2k its fine. A ton of power during all rpms except 5-5.5k. Whats happening here? I had my fuel pressure gauge in my face and its getting 110psi. Thats pretty much what it should be according to HRC but why is it screwing up at 5k?? Ive tried everything I can possibly think of with my S-AFC...leaning it out and richening it up but nothing. Still bogs at 5k. I would think its the injecters but at 6k its fine. Why just at 5k? Any thoughts would be GREAT..thanks!!

What is the condition of your ignition system? You only need 3 things to run an engine, spark, fuel and compression. You obviously have compression, you have already tried fuel settings so the only thing left is spark.

The stock ignition will be fine for now. I would pull off your cap and see if there are any trail marks inside. The spark can actually arch inside the cap. Its a rare occurance but if you say everything else is good its worth a try. Also check the impedence on your plug wires and see if any are bad or have a problem. Did you pull the plugs and see what they look like?

The msd ignition wires are a day old...the car was doing it before them. The plugs, when I pulled them were brown. Should I clean them?

If the plugs are just dirty it probably wont do anything but cleaning them wont hurt. How much boost are you running? You may have to go to a colder plug if you havent already. When i had my blow and nitrous on the car it would do the same thing. I changed the plugs and it was fine. Im sure the whole problem is something stupid and is youll figure it out.

The heat range is more important than the type. Im not usre what the DSMs run stock but I run a heat range of 7 in my Acura as compared to a range of 9 stock. This may be getting alittle over my head as I am not too familiar with the DSMs. I would just go over the ignition system with a fine toothed comb and do somethng to get those fuel pressures down.
