97 accord taillights

i've seen some cars that has the orange signal part of the taillight clear and i was wondering how did they do that? did they buy new taillights or just removed the orange part. i tried taking apart the assembly but i dunno how i would remove the orange part. it seems like i can but i dunno how. can someone help...
