A++ Certification
hey guys i was thinkig about getting an a++ certification this summer, but i really don't know where to start. What books do i need and how much would they cost ? i have $300 saved for the books. also can you point out a website that would give me location of centers where i could take the tests ?

C++ is a programing laguage and A+ or A++ (heard it refered like both) is a Computer Hardware Certification. in other words i will fix computers

Its A+. I have that one ( & Network+ and a bunch of other vendor certs).
Look into the Exam Prep books. They're pretty good. Don't count on making big bucks with it. The A+ is good starting point. Once you get it, try to get into a tech shop(i.e. - CompUSA or some other shop). Experience is invaluable.

well i have experience. i worked at CSU as a Hardware tech for one year when i did not take more than 6 credit hours. where do i get the books from ?

They sometimes offer classes at local schools or computer stores. You might ask around. You gotta work your butt off to get that certification and you will be tested over retarded crap that you will never use. I was told it costs 100 bucks to take the test... better pass

Yes there is stuff that you may never use. But its a vendor neutral certification so they have to cover everything.
Anyhow, check www.bamm.com or www.amazon.com.

thanks CA. i know most of the useless crap. When i worked at csu i had to take some tests like a+ and i passed them with the lowest 85%. What i don't like about them is the printer questions
