what to do?

what do you liek to do? Make a PB&J ahah. I had this type of class once but we had to make something with legos and then write a report how to put it together. Maybe i am on the wrong path but that might work. did you what to the last minute to start this project.

how to assemble shock and spring setup sounds decent to me...you could take stocks and dismantle and then put the new ones together...thats as simple as some of the others that you suggested

Why not ask the prof if you can have class in a different setting (i.e. parking lot) for your demonstration? Worst that can happen is he/she says no. But you won't know if you don't ask and explain what you want to do. If you think it would help, dress it under the guise of automobile safety and how it is important to change oil or something along those lines.

I wouldn't stress out too much about it if you can do anything. By my take on it I would show them how to make no bake cookies, play crazy 8's, or something dumb like that. If it has to be a little longer and more advanced you could show them how to make a couple different kinds of paper airplanes. You could "research" designs on the internet and all. Yeah its getting late and I'm probably not understanding this or making sense. Hopefully I was some help.

Cant you show like how to properly take a bra off with out looking or something? Probably not but just a suggestion... Just ask to use her computer and put it on the tv and show them how to properly register with the greatest site of them all.

How about fixing a flat tire, bring in a tire with a nail or screw in it, remove the nail, and plug it. Also you can show how to find the leak in a tire with soapy water in a spray bottle

Borrow someone's laptop and connected to an overhead projector. OR just make tons of slides and explain step by step like they do using tutorials on the net sometimes. You can get an projector for a computer, or at least and overhead projector right?

damn...I'm sittin here tryin to think of what I did my "how to" speech on in high school or college and I can't think of either. What an effect it had on me!!! But seriously why don't you do something like how to fold an origami (?) swan or something. Those things are super easy to make, I'm sure you can get directions either off the net or your school library should have a book on it....and you really don't need origami paper to do it. In my world cultures class in hs, we made them out of left over gift wrap. You can get that cheaply anywhere, and you'd probably be able to give a piece of paper to all the kids in your class and have it be an "interactive" lesson.

I dunno dude...I don't know what your skill levels are...and I'm a girl, so of course I pick "crafty" stuff to do. You could be like the kid in my hs comm class that did his how to speech on how to read a UPC bar code. This kid also had ambitions of taking over the world too. He was a lil off balance!

I don't know...I don't think "normal" people should be able to read those things. All I remember from his speech was the topic and the line thicknesses mean different things. I had that class back when I was in 10th grade which would put that at about 7-8 yrs ago. That's a long time to try to remember something that I don't have an interest in!

Man I had to do this crap in my Public Speaking course....lots of fun. Of course I did the mountain bike tire demo.....

One guy did a skydiving lesson (he jumped a lot) and showed the neutral position and stuff on the floor, brought in all his gear.

Another guy did "how to roll your own 'tobacco' in a Philly Blunt." Haha.....he removed the tobacco inside and replaced it with his own. Of course when he was licking the wrapper he got a little tobacco and spit it out quickly proclaiming "I hate tobacco." It was mildly amusing....

Still looking for ideas?

What kind of skills do you have that you think others may not? It's easier if you can pick something that you are intimately familiar with.

How to pick a "how to" topic.

How to tie a tie. I'd recommend showing a couple different knots rather than only one.

How to pitch a tent then properly pack it.

How to meditate. Just sit there quietly the whole time.....
