I Really Need Help Guys!!

Ok, i have this assignment for my class and i have to teach my class something, anythign really. As long as i can actually DO it in a calss room setting. I'll give you some examples of what ppl are doing for their topic:
how to wax a snowboard
how to row a canoe properly
how to play 3 chords on a guitar
how to change a flat mountain bike tire
how to properly do a an arm curl
how to do a simple card trick....
, so you guys get the idea right. I have to do the assignment THIS weekend and present it on wednesday. So i have to write upt he instructions and a bunch of crap. SO PLEASE PLEASE, throw me some ideas. And don't say "how to change oil" becaues it has to be INCLASS.....I REALLY NEED HELP WITH THIS PLEASE GUYS!! AND GALS!!

what to do?

what do you liek to do? Make a PB&J ahah. I had this type of class once but we had to make something with legos and then write a report how to put it together. Maybe i am on the wrong path but that might work. did you what to the last minute to start this project.

pdiggitydogg 09-20-2003 07:03 PM

how to assemble shock and spring setup sounds decent to me...you could take stocks and dismantle and then put the new ones together...thats as simple as some of the others that you suggested

Grip72 09-20-2003 07:34 PM

ya, but don't have those on hand man..i have like nothign at my availableityness...

DumbMoFo 09-20-2003 08:22 PM

Why not ask the prof if you can have class in a different setting (i.e. parking lot) for your demonstration? Worst that can happen is he/she says no. But you won't know if you don't ask and explain what you want to do. If you think it would help, dress it under the guise of automobile safety and how it is important to change oil or something along those lines.

Grip72 09-20-2003 08:46 PM

can't man...she already laid out all the criteria....and she says theyv'e tried to do stuff outside the years in the past..but it just doesn't work..

Loki 09-21-2003 02:31 AM

I wouldn't stress out too much about it if you can do anything. By my take on it I would show them how to make no bake cookies, play crazy 8's, or something dumb like that. If it has to be a little longer and more advanced you could show them how to make a couple different kinds of paper airplanes. You could "research" designs on the internet and all. Yeah its getting late and I'm probably not understanding this or making sense. Hopefully I was some help.

Grip72 09-21-2003 12:33 PM

ya some help...the net sucks tho..i hate th enet

VR4_Craver 09-21-2003 03:04 PM

Cant you show like how to properly take a bra off with out looking or something? Probably not but just a suggestion... Just ask to use her computer and put it on the tv and show them how to properly register with the greatest site of them all.

HONDA STYLE!!!!! ;) ;) ;)

Grip72 09-21-2003 04:29 PM

lmao..no but for real...do you guys have any cultural traditions or anything like that??

jamez18 09-21-2003 04:35 PM

How about fixing a flat tire, bring in a tire with a nail or screw in it, remove the nail, and plug it. Also you can show how to find the leak in a tire with soapy water in a spray bottle

Grip72 09-21-2003 05:00 PM

that's a good idea..but i can't bring in a tire

VR4_Craver 09-21-2003 07:46 PM

Cant you just tell her that since you dont know anything about anything except cars and make a video of you installing like an intake or chaging the oil or something like that on a car? Dont you think that she would understand??

pdiggitydogg 09-21-2003 09:17 PM

what CANT you do? For the class I mean...were there any examples?

Grip72 09-21-2003 10:11 PM

you CAN"T do changing oil, anything to do with drugs or sex or alchohol...the biggest problem i'm having is making it interesting and making sure have the materials and i'm able to do it IN CLASS

juvenile 09-21-2003 10:36 PM

How to properly reformat, partition and install windows xp ;)
or since know you're good at this, how to manipulate images in photoshop, and do the same shit you did to wren's car...

Grip72 09-21-2003 10:39 PM

ya, but there is no computers in the class..this is a plain jane class room, only has outlets for power (AC)

juvenile 09-21-2003 10:45 PM

Borrow someone's laptop and connected to an overhead projector. OR just make tons of slides and explain step by step like they do using tutorials on the net sometimes. You can get an projector for a computer, or at least and overhead projector right?

Grip72 09-21-2003 10:55 PM

no access.....access denied sir...any other ideas..i' going insane..this is due like tuesday

DsBlu01CivEX 09-21-2003 11:04 PM

damn...I'm sittin here tryin to think of what I did my "how to" speech on in high school or college and I can't think of either. What an effect it had on me!!! But seriously why don't you do something like how to fold an origami (?) swan or something. Those things are super easy to make, I'm sure you can get directions either off the net or your school library should have a book on it....and you really don't need origami paper to do it. In my world cultures class in hs, we made them out of left over gift wrap. You can get that cheaply anywhere, and you'd probably be able to give a piece of paper to all the kids in your class and have it be an "interactive" lesson.

I dunno dude...I don't know what your skill levels are...and I'm a girl, so of course I pick "crafty" stuff to do. You could be like the kid in my hs comm class that did his how to speech on how to read a UPC bar code. :zombie: :dunce: This kid also had ambitions of taking over the world too. He was a lil off balance!:paranoid:

Grip72 09-21-2003 11:09 PM

hey, how do u read those UPC barcodes?

I don't know...I don't think "normal" people should be able to read those things. All I remember from his speech was the topic and the line thicknesses mean different things. I had that class back when I was in 10th grade which would put that at about 7-8 yrs ago. That's a long time to try to remember something that I don't have an interest in!

Grip72 09-21-2003 11:23 PM

true dat my homie..

spoogenet 09-22-2003 10:12 AM

Man I had to do this crap in my Public Speaking course....lots of fun. Of course I did the mountain bike tire demo.....

One guy did a skydiving lesson (he jumped a lot) and showed the neutral position and stuff on the floor, brought in all his gear.

Another guy did "how to roll your own 'tobacco' in a Philly Blunt." Haha.....he removed the tobacco inside and replaced it with his own. Of course when he was licking the wrapper he got a little tobacco and spit it out quickly proclaiming "I hate tobacco." ;) It was mildly amusing....

Still looking for ideas?

What kind of skills do you have that you think others may not? It's easier if you can pick something that you are intimately familiar with.

How to pick a "how to" topic. ;)

How to tie a tie. I'd recommend showing a couple different knots rather than only one.

How to pitch a tent then properly pack it.

How to meditate. ;) Just sit there quietly the whole time.....

b

Grip72 09-22-2003 12:03 PM

LMAO at the meditating thing..
