all it takes for a car to be NOT streetable is the deletion of cats (TECHNICALLY FROM A LEGAL STANDPOINT), thats a very vague statement, my car is not streetable and i ran mid 13's.

now as for the fastest street legal car ive heard rumors of a 7 second streetable viper, but nothing takes the cake quite like the 306 turbocharged 1993 lx of howie automotive.... get this

dynoed 1720 horsepower (not typo) from 26psi of boost still a 5.0L motor too! 8.20@172mph

COMPLETELY BONE STOCK APEARANCE with only a 2 inch cowel hood. THIS GUY DRIVES IT TO THE FREAKING TRACK and BACK... more than 20 miles each way... full power everything with stereo system, and still street legal.

i happened to be reading an article on it whilst i read your statement. page 122 on february 2003 5.0 mustang...

get this the car is so stock on the outside every time he goes to tech inspection and people ask what he runs when he tells them 8.2 seconds they politely inform him that its a 1/4 mile track and not a 1/8th mile track.... the only mods he does when he races are puts slicks on and puts the obligitory parachute on...


now imagine the face of the 9.5 second all motor trans am IF he could pull up next to a street light with this thing in full race trim:pfft:

In streetable I mean, it can Idle, get good enough gas mileage that you dont have to fill up every other block on 100+octane fuel, and that it still retains some creature comforts. And not have to worry about getting pulled over and having your car taken from you.

If you can do those and still rip off an 8something 1/4 mile(like the guy your talking about) then thats one HELL-OF-A-CAR and 100 times better than some trailor queen. In my opinion.

People always wanta talk shit, but think since they're living in the internet dream world they dont have to back it up. As for a stock b18a in a crx pulling low 14's, its highly UNlikely.
