Hey guys and girls I need your help one more time. Im still looking for a car and I found a 97 Civic EX with 41k and hes asking 8,500 but I think he will sell for 7,500, anyways he says its a EX and thats what badge it has but under the hood it doesnt say vtec on the valve cover??? He said that "some say it and some dont", is this true??? It does have power everything, and it is in mint condition. It was owned by someone that worked for the police department and she was the original owner and drove down the street and back and that was it. If everything is legit I think its a good deal. Agree or No?????

i don't think the sohc civics have vtec on the valve cover. i know for a fact that sohc accords have the vtec on the valve cover

remember though, the sohc vtec is for economy, its not the same lift/durration as a dohc vtec engine

I wouldnt waste my money on I/H/E cause you dont see that much of a gain. Be smart save the money for a turbo, supercharger, or if you just want some speed sometimes Nitrous. Other then that I would spend more time on the suspension then messing with lousy boltons.

I get ya...but how much is it for a good turbo kit? Im not really going just for speed, I want it to look good to. So I kinda have to balance the money as well as the mods out. I heard somewhere that nitrous is bad for your car?? Is this true? I already have 17's from my prelude, I just need some coilovers, any ideas on some good ones?? If I had the money I think I would get airbags but I heard some bad things about them to. But before I start counting my chickens before they hatch...I have to worry on getting the car first. I think he will let it go for 7,500...I hope he does. So you guys think its a good deal?

the greddy kit isnt too much, if jackson racingmakes a super charger, that might be something to look into also
