It should be a straight shot with the exception of those already mentioned.

so just swapping the head would do it? i get 125HP instead of 109? what about my torque?Would it also gian some?

if i do the head swap do i still have to change the ecu?

is it really worth it for 14hp gain ? maybe i would go with a b series, or if you plan on building up this one. as for the dx-lx what differences are you talking about ? just the engines ? i know they have different engines, but also there are some trim differences like power locks, power windows and AC.

no you wont have to change the ECU...

^... YES you would need to change the ecu... otherwise vtec won't ever engage... it's computer controlled.

I wouldn't bother doing a headswap... swapping the whole engine/tranny (if you already have them) would be easier...

As far as this not being worth it (hondamaniac)... You'd be a fool to spend more than 600 bucks for a full z6 engine/tranny... so comparing it to a b swap (1500-4000) is kinda out of line...

A sohc vtec engine has more than enough potential and it would be a SIGNIFICANT increase in overall power for someone used to dx power...

I'd say just do the whole swap and save the old block for just in-cases'...

Also the reason I wouldn't recomend swaping heads is...

A. You will not make the same power with a dx bottom end and ex top...
B. The d16z6 has piston squirters (to cool pistons)
C. To properly swap the head you should have both it and the block decked... which in itself is more trouble than it's worth.
D. Even though it's more work swapping the ex and it's harness/ecu in would come out much better and be more reliable than a mini-me head swap.

just my opinion.
