do you have any problems with emissions?
and how much did it cost you for the complete swap?

I shouldnt have emmisions problems, and make sure your car is not made by "Honda Of Canada" like mine - or you will go thru swap hell.

All civics from 92-95 (probably earlier models as well), and all four door civics (96 +) and hatches (96-00) are made there, as well as 96-00 Acura 1.6 and 01+ 1.7's. At he plant next door they make the MDX, Pilot, and the new pick up.

how much money did it cost you for the complete swap?
i dont want to spend a whole lot seeing as how im going to try and convert my A/T to manual.
do they even have a A/T option for this engine?

WHy waste ur money - ur carz still gonna be a slow honda anyways.

BTW, an auto tranny on that motor would suck seeing as how the thing has a small power band and is only moderately quick with short gearing.

then why did you do it, if your car is just a slow honda?
and if i did it,it wouldnt be to race or anything, i have 130,000 miles on my D series. so i would like to get a new engine eventually anyways, and i wouldnt mind a little more hp. I thought this engine would a good choice.

I like my friends b16 sol...but I wouldnt buy one for a swap. Theyre very rev happy and w/ some ctr pistons and more aggressive cams theyre surprisingly better.

There are other options like turbo D16 though. It'd be cheaper and faster than an n/a swap

hear this really really sad story:

my car is a 1992 Honda Civic CX hatchback

70HP and like 92trq

the intake manifold is too small to add a C.A.I.

I have a 10 gallon tank, and it takes like 13 dollars to fill up. I get about 33MPG

ya know jj, all Bseries tb's will bolt onto any Dseries horizontal intake manifold design - Or any Dseries tb too for that matter.

If you really wanted to add a larger inlet so you could add an intake tube you could do that.

Change out the throttle body?

pdig, one of my friends was telling me to get a d16y8 intake manifold, like he has on his 2000 Honda civic EX, and get about 15 extra horsepower by just putting that bigger intake manifold on. With the bigger intake manifold I'll be able to put a C.A.I. on.

yeah you can do that too. You wont gain 15hp, but you should notice it.

The y8 IM is the type r mainifold of Dseries.

(There is a difference between 96-98 and 99-00 IMs...exactly what I cant remember. Whether that matters w/ a 5th gen or not I dont know)

Hey Pdigg, do you know how much trouble it is swapping the the IMs? If it's not that big of a deal I'll just hook up with a y8 IM and swap them out.
