so your looking at $400 for parts(if there's even a cam for the d17) and another 200-400 in labor. for a total of maybe 6-8whp. yeah sounds like a great bang for the buck.

Oh so running nitrous on an engine with no internal upgrades so you can blow your shit up is cost effective??

Whatever...nitrous is a cheaper (read pussy) way out........NAWWWWWWWWWSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another sensitive subject......

I'm with Az on this one. It's not as bad as people think as long as it is done right...... like any other set-up. Plus, a D-series block is so fucking cheap. If it blows up, get another one for $50 and another $50 for a VTEC or non-VTEC head, if needed, at the bone yard..... at least around here...... he he he...

its is cheap unless you're some ricer who goes around spraying every 5 minutes cause they think everyones racing them. and yes it is safe if its done right.

Don't start with me....I've been fucking with cars since around the time you were still playing with your barbie dolls...and I've been around way too many people that want to up their shot and don't realize what the hell they are doing....you go all engine and a) you get more respect b) you don't risk fucking anything up

^I'm with Rob, really to run nitrous you should upgrade your internals, thats goes with turbo aswell. It's safer and you'll get a better outcome. There's no cheap way to get the car faster and really the cheapest is to just turbo it like thermalfi'd said.

P.S. "please dont argue with me, your obvious lack of knowledge is already beginning to show" - I for one know Rob knows what he's talking so no more flamin

yet you still dont understand that nitrous is not gonna blow shit up if you do it right. you can fuck up a n/a engine as well, but you've been around cars so long and i guess you should know this right?

yeah you get alot of respect losing. freakin ricer talk.

well, i met a dude who's running a 75 shot on a grand cherokee as his daily driver, all stock except for the trans. The key is your air to fuel ratio, as long as everything is dialed in it's usually safe. Its usually the people who don't know what they're doing that end up being horror stories that everyone hears about. Another thing is that n20 and forced induction (turbo or supercharger) both accomplish the same purpose, to raise you compression, the spray raises the compression, as would a turbo, just in a different way. So either way running n2o on a stock block isn't a lot different from running boost because they both cause more pressure inside the cylinder causing more stress and power.

Dont Half the Companys selling n20 say stock internals (with fuel system up grades ie. pump, injectors, regulator, and stuff like that oh yeah and a air/fuel ratio gauge) will be ok just do it smart???
my dad has a 250 shot of n20 on a 700 hp with dyno sheets and a 10.11 time slip from Rock falls WI. and I have a 10.77 slipmalibu and I dont think he's even ran it with n20 yet and that beast is built and that thing is really safe just built up right...

well n20 seems to be the cheaper alternative in the short run, but i think the turbo is the best there is out there. and if the car is tuned properly you won't have any problems with n20 on stock internals with up to a 80 shot. tunning is the key on everything you do.

I think I am gonna go the turbo route (just the noise it makes and the BOV are key featuers) , 6 psi and use a n20 kit on the FMIC but I need about 3k for the kit hmmm... found one for my little D17 and they say complete bolt on well see though

Have u ever used nitrous??? I have. I am with AZ here. It call comes down to tunning. A relatively small shot of nitrous is very safe!

i like how someone will argue that nitrous is the "pussy" way out since it doesnt cost as much, yet say in the exact same comment that inorder to run it you HAVE to upgrade the engines internals while with turbo you dont.

just a minor contradiction, or perhaps upgrading engine internals is about as much as getting a value meal at mc donalds these days.

Looky what I just found
http://www.cryofuzion.com/spraybar.htm
(interesting...It makes sense though. I wonder why people arent thinking about this? Probably because the thought of "more power" overrides clear thinking processes. ...Didnt SCC have an article on that a few months ago?)
