Yeah...their first album was great...but everthing after that was just too abstract and speed-metalish for me (and I like slayer...what does that tell ya? Quote:
Somewhere along the way the Beastie Boys became childish. And not immature because tons of their classic shit is immature and still great. It's just that a lot of their stuff sounds like it's either rehashed from old songs or written by first graders. As for Linkin Park...they will always such major amounts of dick and I would invite them to copiously fellate me.

slipknots first album was freakin awesome the second and third not to great but still alright considering most of the new "metal" thats been coming out. but slipknot kicks ass in concert, seen em twice now.
beastie boys are cool, some of there shit is a little on the cheesy side but over all i like 'em linkin park, hmmmmm... i liked when i seen them in concert before they were on mtv and hardly anyone know who they were, but they got played out quick. but i like there new video, breaking a habit ,or something like that. |

Yes...I can Real hip hop is The Quannum Collective (DJ Shadow, Blackalicious, Latryx, Lyrics Born, Lateef, etc.), Jurassic 5, The X-Ecutioners, The Invisible Skratch Piklz, MC Paul Barman, Mos Def and so on. Rap is trite. It's easy to pick out by it's beats and it's philosophy. Most of it involves some manner of wannabe violence or masogony on a canvas of played out beats and samples that have been used a thousand times before by other artists (and sweet fucking christ I use the term "artist" loosely). Dr. Dre, for example used to be a great hip hop producer in the days of NWA. Then he decided he wanted to take the mic and turned his talents into crap which he continues to parlay by way of Eminem and other artists who should die in their sleep and be forgotten about entirely (because if they died real deaths people might pay attention...attention unworthy of their lives). His beats and samples have become so redundant that I can play Dre rythyms and melodies on my guitar...and the guitar is the antithesis of rap. That is the essence of rap. Solely unoriginal and uninspired...it's just an easy cash cow for retarded suburbanite (mostly white) kids who like to think they're cool. You want real black culture? Listen to Latryx or Mos Def. You want cookie cutter bullshit? Keep listening to G-Unit and Jay Z.

hey dont get me wrong i like mos def, the sugarhill gang, warren g, nwa and plenty of other old school ppl, however i still like ma jay z and 50 cent even though they might false and putting on a front, i still like there music i know what ya mean by now rap music is all about the money but i think if they were that bad then they wouldn't be so famous and widespread. however at the end of the day music is like marmite ya either love it or hate it lol.
