1980 civic and a20a1

I was wondering. I am getting a 1980 civic 2dr. with the 1.5L. I have a a20a1 short block and head out of my 1988 accord lx. will the intake manifold off of the 1.5 work on the a20a1 when I swap it in or will I have to get another a20a1 intake? and will I be able to put the 5spd out of that accord into the car when it is an automatic? Help me out man.

that would be a bastardized swap...first of all, I've never heard of anyone using accord engine components in a swap, and I'm pretty sure there is zero aftermarket support for A series engines. It sounds to me you'd have better luck swapping something into the accord.

What would be really awesome is if you were to put a powerful engine into that 80 civic...the ultimate sleeper. You'd have to talk to someone to fabricate you some mounts, shift linkage, etc. etc. your talking about a lot of money.

yea like a B series engine custom mounted in there...that would take lots of cash like blind said...but it would be MAD fast...

swap

The reason I'm doing the swap is because the 1.5 and the 2spd. auto are anemic! the 1.5 pushes 68hp and the 2spd auto is self explanatory. My a20a1 that came out of my accord pushes 98hp(carbed) so it will give it a little more push and go especially with the 5spd. I was just wondering if it would work and all. And while I'm at it...seany_91accord do you have a pass. side headlight lens for a 90-93 accord? I need one for my moms 92 wagon. anyways... if you want to know what a 1980 civic looks like heres a pic. And the reason I don't put any mods on the accord is because it's in pieces because I am parting it out on 3geez.com.
