Sometimes happy music is better then listening about people hating their dad or wanting to "tap that ass" or something =/

Anyways. I listen to almost anything depending on my mood.

Which artists are on that CD? There are some really decent sounding Christian artists out there - Steven Curtis Chapman, Jars of Clay, Sara Groves (err, just to name a few)...

Yeah I think they're on it. Delirious and Sonic Flood are pretty good as well. It's good music, something to lift the spirit.

Some Christian music you can hardly tell its Christian unless you listen to the lyrics, and even then its not super obvious. Christian music doesnt have to be old Hymnals that they sing on sunday morning in church. There is all sorts of stuff like Punk, metal, dance/techno, Rap... You name it. A lot of it is really good.

I challenge you to give some a listen, you maybe rather surprised.

Lol, mylittlecivic Creed is not a christian band even though they don't cuss a lot in their songs... and girlracer, I hope that was sarcasm.... Racing Rice is right, a lot of the christian songs today aren't old hymns, they're pretty much main stream music. And its not all sappy as most people would think.

I've just recently (like this past weekend) started listening to Christian music....Sure I had heard some before (like there is a song by Mary Mary somthing about taking the shackles off my feet so I can dance.... that they play in clubs and stuff), but I went to the Women of Faith Conference this past weekend in DC...and it was very very good. I was sorta skeptical about going, but my mom really wanted me to, and now I'm glad I did. There are some amazing vocalists on the Christian music stream. And this coming from someone that typically listens only to rap and r&b, I'd suggest some of you to actually give it a listen, you'd might be surprised.

No offense D, but I'd rather sh!t in my hand & rub it in my hair.

Has anyone heard Jars of Clay? They're a christian group, but actually have a song I like... I forgot about them.

The sh!t in the hair thing goes for all the rest of 'em tho

Quin...none taken...it's not like that's the only type of music I listen to now or anything like that.

Oh and 93honda...I think you'd be surprised how many songs out there are religiously based but don't mention Jesus or God or anything else like that...

This is true. I liked Jars Of Clay b/c they didn't go right out and say it. I didn't even know they were a christian group till I heard the radio DJ say it.

Ok...that's just wrong. Any type of rock music whether it's punk or metal or pop or whatever is not meant to be christian and I'd appreciate it if this huge bunch of candy ass "musicians" would stop trying to make it that way. Christian artists who play music like that are just acts who couldn't make it in the REAL music industry and they know there's a much smaller pool for christian artists. Besides, religious rock music is antithetical. When done properly rock music is, in fact, the devil's music. I don't mean to piss off any christians (though I'm not sorry if I have), but that music is just pussy shit and I almost find it offensive that you'd group any "christian" metal or punk artist in with any real (read: talented) groups.

Oh, and by the by, the word "christian" should only be capitalized when beginning a sentence. Thank you and have a nice day.

Alright guys this is just sad. Christianity is about accepting Jesus and everything He has to offer, nothing more and nothing less. And the music doesn't have anything to do with being sissy, it's just another way of worship.

Ummm...why do you need to worship anyone? Is your life so hollow that you need to fill it with intangiable father figures that shake their fingers at you from thousands of years ago and say do it and I'll f*ckin spank you (thank you Dogma)? So if music is another form of worship does that mean people can worship me when I put out my band's next CD and that would make it ok? Look...listening to christian music has been scientifically proven to make you a giant pussy and I think anyone with common sense (read: those who don't waste Sundays in church) can plainly see that.

Also...what's with you people capitalizing words like "He"? It's just piss poor grammar really.

Isn't that how all religions start? But if you do it these days you've got a cult, not a religion. Only difference is that people back then were too dumb to realize the difference (and apparently some people today haven't advanced too much). Jesus was worshiped by people who threw stones at their own shadows and died of old age and fear at 28. So please...put a lot of stock in what they believed. See 93Honda...I think Jesus was an illusionist. A lot of magicians/illusionists have said that they can recreate any biblical miracle with enough planning. But a junkie...that works too.

To each his own. Thats what makes the world go around, different beliefs, and outlooks. Im not going to sit here and push stuff on anyone, because I dont believe in that unlike a lot of people. Likewise, I would appreciate the respect back. If you dont like this thread dont reply. Its about christian music, not christian views, etc.
