what exactly is the difference between a spoon engine and a "normal" engine I've heard people refer to spoon engines but don't know what the diff is and I didn't find any answer through searching

Spoon is a performance company just like Mugen. All they really do is manufacture upgraded parts for Hondas, as well as tune it. Here's some info:
