Want new subs thinking of kickers wat should i do?

Well i have right now i got 2 Kenwood 12's and runnin a Kenwood 800 watt amp but i am geting rid of those... well i have been thinking about getting the Kicker SolobarL5's.. i want 2 of those with maybe custom box... i heard that kicker is probly the best and i figured but i havent heard much about them... wat u guys think of these? are they worth the money and do they kick a lot of bass out... cause i all want is bass... nothing else... just a ton of bass... and something thats not very expnesive... and i am looking for an amp the lightening Audio Bolt B.300.2 100Wx2 or 300x1 amp... are thye good amps or should i go with sometihng else... if u have any other ideas let me know casue i am puttin my integra in a car show and i want to be the big one with all the bass.. but opinions needed....... Price no higher than $400...

Thanx

good luck getting that for under 400...

the setup you have right now is probly right near that mark.

kickers do pound and stay intact pretty well except the squares which tend to come apart rather quickly...
if going with kickers i'd say some xpl's but they are going to cost ya. and the amp... i bet you cant even find any 800W (decent quality) for much under $400. so if thats the absolute limit in $$'s stay with what you have or just upgrade one thing ie the subs or the amp or whatever.
custom box minimum 80.00 unless you do it yourself.

car show bass is minimum 2 speakers(many more usually cause the one's you could get away with just two are like 1000 bucks each.)... total sub wattage about 1500W-sky's the limit.

i hope i didnt put a damper on ya... but 400 is just not reasonable for car show bass.

I have one Solo L7 12 in my 3000GT and it beats 4 real. I like it. But for the money u tryin to spend....u might as well stay with what u got or just get 2 new subs. i see nothin wrong with Kenwood amps, but I'd ditch them woofers. But for $400...I dunno...flea market shoppin time!

Check out Ample Audio or Autotek.. Good, and really not too expensive..

The stuff you listed is ok, but you could do better for around the same amount of dough..

do not buy the kenwood subs from him for 200.00... you can get those two for one at crutchfield.com or other places. those are about 140ish each. thats the ones i have... yep im poor. but they sound decent. im getting a 600W Phoenix Gold amp... its nice.

side note: you should pay attention to what type of box you want... that makes a big difference in the sound. a bandpass box which is a semi sealed box is good for loud volume but not real punchy and deep good for country jazz some rock. sealed box (best in my opinion) is awesome for deep punchy bass but you dont get quite as much volume good for rap, hip hop, really anything with deeper bass. ported box is awesome for higher louder bass which doesn't have much punch at all. good for rock and jazz.

My friend bought 2 12 in L7's for 400 off ebay, brand new. The guy had a shop near where we lived so it worked out good. Those subs are sweeet. Just make sure you have an amp with some balls. Those things are power hungry.

Ya i know. if i can find a good set for a good price maybe i can get them... i could have had a hcance to got a pair last year they was the L7's with a built in amp for $200 but i went with 2 10's and a 600 watt amp.. that was a mistake... well Maxvla i checked them out and that audio guy has them in his other integra and there only 2 10s and they sound really nice... i just wonder how 3 of them 12's would sound.. he told me that all they do is bass and nothing else... and thas all i want is a sub with hard hitting bass

do it if you like them... 3 12's usually sound pretty good no matter what they are. plan to put a TON of power into them even if they aren't really big power subs. the more power the cleaner the really loud bass is.
i suggest staying away from the L7's. they pound like a sex starved jailbreaker but i know 3 friends that have had them and they have seperated from the surrounds starting in the corners. i love kicker to death but they need to do more work on those.

my good buddy just got 2 10" L5's for i think 130 a pop (and the next week they shot up to $200 a piece) so he got damn lucky, but he has yet to find an amp to push em (doesnt have the $ for a good 1000w amp) and when he finds one on ebay for cheap it turns out his card is maxed out, so he was pissed, but we hooked up my other friends amp to them and only put 50w to each voice coil (100 per sub) and they still hit pretty nice (needless to say i think he'd clobber my MTX, if he ever got an amp...and just think, those things are made for 450w RMS....GOOD LORD! the retard is putting them in a truck...little air spacce!, not even extended cab!!

he'll die lol

one of my friends had one 15" kicker xpl with about 400W running to it that put my system to shame as far as bass.
if you are really going freakin loud bass get a 15" or two.
10's are good for clean precise bass 12's are good for louder deeper and still pretty precise bass 15's are good for deeeeeep throbbing loud as hell bass.
Kicker XPL 15" subs are 249.00 list but im sure you can find them cheaper. so get one of those and then spend a few hours on the strip and you'll be able to afford a good amp. lol j/k.

Sorry for the shameless plug, but you can get them here for $159... http://caraudiozone.woofersetc.com

Yeah, I make a few bucks on the sale, and its the exact same as buying directly from woofersetc.

not a shameless plug if you can save someone some bigtime money... you got deals for him on amps there too?

looks like you can get a kicker KX400.2 100x2 bridged 400x1 for 299.00 and the sub for 159. so $450 you will dominate... oh yeah and a box. those are cheap.

If all you want is bass, get the low end Fosgate 15" woofer- RFZ2415. That woofer will POUND with a mere 200 watts. Get two and send them 500 watts, and you'd be bumpin the neighborhood apart.

I'm not a huge Fosgate fan myself, but when I sold this stuff, we had a pair of the low end Punch 15s hooked up to an old 800a2. We used to pound the hell out of those all day, and we never broke one over the course of about a year.

Fosgate isn't the greatest stuff out there, but on a tight budget it's really not bad at all. They've developed a bad name amongst the die hards for one reason: they used to make an incredible product, but dropped quality in favor of cutting production costs. Don't get me wrong, they're no A/D/S, Dynaudio or Zapco, but contrary to popular belief, they make a decent product for those on a tight budget.

The thing with fosgate is that, we dont know who the hell is making them..

At one point, they were having they're subs built by cheap ass subcontractors.. Shipped to RF, and they put they're logo on it..

Not very honnest IMO.

PS. this went down in SoCal.

you know... i forgot you had a 800W amp... you dont need a new amp. just get a 15" Kicker XPL (or 15" anything really) and a box and you'll be set maximum $ like 250.00
or if your greedy... get <wink> <wink> 2 of them!!!

For the amp I'd go with Ample Audio A226X.. Its around 200$.

And for subs, 2 15" (or 12) Cerwin HED's in a ported box. 15's go for around 95$.

If porperly setup, it'll pound like a bad mofo!

Done for 400$..

The is rated 350 x 1 @4ohms..
But its an Ample.. So you could expect a little more.

95$ is a good price. Yes. But dont call it a cheap sub, cause it really isnt.

For different reasons some products sell for less than they are worth.. Example, the Image dynamics subs, they are insane SQ subs, but sell for low quality sub prices..

You should try finding a shop that carries these brands and try them out..

Then you'll know.

Oh cool.. Then go with the Kickers.. If you can afford a strong enough amp go with the COMP VR..
They'll need 400w rms each, for the 12s.

But with the amp that I suggested you could go with the Kicker Comp 12's.. Thats what I have. In the proper box(sealed), they'll play very clean and loud!

What do you mean they sound better?

Comp VR's are better in SQ and SPL.. The only thing is that they are harder to tune properly.. But who cares about that.. Cause once you get it right..

the xpls are more expensive and have higher power handling.
the difference is marginal. just my experience.
