Changing blinker resistor?

Ok, I have followed the instructios on changing the resistor to make my turn signal blink faster, but all the way up to opening the thing up. I got a 45k resistor but I am not sure how to attach it. Do I need to sauder (spelling?) it on? I dont have one, so is there another way to do it?

If you are only going to do this one job, a cheap soldering iron will get you by, but I'd recommend buying a nice, adjustable temp iron so you'll have one in the future. Cheap irons don't last.

These are in the wrong forum. Only actual How-To items should be posted here, not questions. Please ask all questions in their respective forums.
