REALLY THOUGH:

Just walk up an introduce yourself. Ask the key questions (name, age, b/f or not). Then take it from there. It should be more then obvious if she doesn't want to talk to you.

Your all wrong.

They key is to ask a question. This way its almost as if you HAD to talk to her, not because you like her or are trying to pick her up. Also, it will be a basic question (like, where is a certain store) so she will know the answer and feel both smart and comfortable already. Depending on her answer you can take the conversation from there!

So what you're saying is that when I meet a girl in a club I should walk up to her and ask her where the closest 7-11 is...?

Whoa buddy, your question would obviously have to fit the situation. There's tons of questions you can probably make up at a club, be creative.

whatever happened to just telling her what it is that both of you want to hear? you want to ask a question, she wants to know what you want. If I find a girl that I think is attractive and we make eye contact and I grin and so does she, I feel that at that moment she has told me that I am free to approach, just don't be pushy...
"Hi, how are you? My name is John and I need to know if you would be interested in going out sometime to get to know each other better, I find you very attractive and I don't want to live my life regretting not talking to you."

then you guys go out, fall in love and live happily ever after...until she breaks your heart.

Just drool. Women love that. Nothing says "Hi, how are you?" like a big ol' puddle of saliva.
