99 Accord shift levers?

Does anyone know of a company that makes aftermarket shift levers for a 99 Accord 5 speed? When I am sitting low and back in the seat, I have to really reach to shift into 5th gear, It isn't the end of the world, but it is the only gripe I have about the car.

Well you have 2 options. There is a company called P-Spec racing that makes true short shifters for Accords. I have one and its pretty good (modeled after a C's SS).

Your cheaper and easier option is to get a short shift adapter. Since you want the stick to be closer to you, I recommend looking into a B&M unit (if they make it for your 6th gen Accord) because it has neutral position adjustment, letting you bring the stick back. Otherwise, any other SSA will just shorten the throw. It'll still help a little, but not too much.

Thanks for the info! I was also thinking of getting another stock unit and heating the lever with a torch, and bending it just a little. Probably only about 2' at the knob would work. BTW, where can I get one of those factory shop manuals? I have a Chilton, and it is next to useless.

Does P-Spec make them for the 6th gens as well? That would be sweet, C's was very nice.

Monk: 2'....like 2 feet??? That's a ways.....I think you meant 2". Hehe....jfwy!

Factory manuals can be gotten from Helminc. http://www.helminc.com

An alternative may be to get an electronic copy, I think some folks on here may know where to get those.

I'm not sure. I'll try to get in touch with the guy who sold it to me. I bought a pre-production model...
