in quickly reading about budget cards, he's right. It seems your best bet is an nvidia 5200 Ultra. ATI's 9200 or 9600 would do you well also. I would pick the nividia, no question. I've had a fantastic experience with all of nvidia's products. ATI's drivers still suck (though they've tried to make improvements) If you look through technical forums, you'll find tons of people having conflicts with an ATI product and sound cards. (crappy drivers). A friend of mine was crashing every two minutes when trying to play call of duty. I asked him what card he has: ATI. I sked him When was the last time you updated your drivers? Answer: "Uhhhh...." After he updated, no more crashing. Running old drivers with my nvidia gave no problems. That says a lot about which company makes a better product and knows what they are doing. |
