When good master cylinders go bad...went to track tonight

I went to Cecil County Dragway for grudge night and had a little scary experience. I was in my teg and right as i got to the track I went right in with no problems and put on my slicks. i went into the lanes and got teched in and im thinking that everything is going too good. So anyway i reach down to my Profec and give the high boost knob a little turn to the right. I fugure the more boost the better right. WRONG I toasted the 24.5 MT ETS to peices through first launching at 6.5K and ripped second only to hear the slicks make a quick bark again. Finally i got some traction and im flying and I know its a good run but when I go to pull 4th the gear its not there. I didnt grind it just hit a stop and wouldnt go in. I tried to hit 5th then back to back to 4th but no go. Anyway heres my slip. You can tell I had a good run but it just wasnt my day. I took the car into the pits and our diagnosis is a broke master cylinder becasue it is leaking oil onto my floor. I think I may possibly have a bent shift fork also. Oh well your not racing unless you break stuff.

Sorry to hear about your stint of bad luck. On a good note, the times look pretty darn good. Good luck with your car.

OUCH

I know your pain. This spring just before doing my turbo setup, I grenaded my tranny at our local track. Thought I snapped an axle at first, until I looked under the car and saw gear oil pouring all over the starting line.

After an expensive 40 mile flatbed ride, the tranny was pulled and we determined that I had shattered the spider gears in the diff and they blew themselves out the tranny casing!!! $800 CDN dollars later, I was back in business.

Boy, was the Super-Pro finalist pissed at me. He was favored to win and picked my lane just before I blew up! Ended up smoking the tires all the way down the track!! Stupid V-8 curse!!

Hope you get her fixed soon!!

Yeah I dont mind breaking stuff cause when you are racing a car I expect it to happen but im pissed because that would probably beat my best time of 11.89 @117. Oh well I have to worry about getting a cage welded in. I am going to either weld on in in two weeks or just have a custom one made because I want a chrome-moly cage and I cant tig weld.

Well I got a new clutch master cylinder and slave under warranty. The guys here in Lancaster at Jones Acura are the best and their service department cant be beat. They saved my butt many times. Now lets hit the track on Friday.

Well anytime you break anything it does really suck, but a clutch master cylinder is small compared to some of the stuff that I have broken and you very well know what I meen. The latest is a blown headgasket, between 2 cylinders on #7 and #8, all tests pointed to a burned valve and after spending almost 4,000 to build the engine much bigger we pull it all apart to find that I could have had it back on the road for the rest of the season for around $100 to get me through, but this new engine will be pushing around 600 bhp on all motor and adding NOS to it over the winter, I thing we have to look into alot of safety issues. so dont let the small broken items weigh you down.

Well just because I didnt choose to own and build a honda doesnt meen I dont know about honda power, you of all people Boosted3G know. I know more about the workings and how to work on a Honda as the best of them. So just cause I choose to drag race a 347 powered Mustang doesnt meen I dont respect "rice power" j/k
