New Wheels!!!!

Hey guys,

I am thinking of getting these wheels on my new 2000 black civic. I wanted 18"s but decided 17"s would be way less of a hassle how do you guys think they will look?!?!

I think they could look pretty nice. I'd stick with 17s on a Civic IMHO. 18 is just a little too big. Big wheels slow you down, which is a bad thing. How much do these wheels weigh?

My car is a black 2000 civic. I think the offset is +45 but that is just from memory.

Any reason in particular why you picked those??

Cause in that same style, there are nicer wheels..

I agree, if you're willing to shell out a little more cash, you might be happier in the long run. Look for some light wheels.

18's on a daily driven civic is A) going to make you slower B) probably going to rub like hell C) make your car sit ridiculously high D) look very out of place if you are lacking fender flares.

Swift why do you regret having wheels larger than 16"s...Is it because of the slow acceleration?? I figure its better in the long run any ways because I have the worst luck with speeding tickets

i regret it because i spent $1600 on them and didnt do anything to the performance of the car...that was before when i was always focusing on things that would make my car look good.. now im all about performance and weight reduction since im running an all-motor car..
oh, and speeding is all about discipline...it has nothing to do w/ acceleration...even a semi can go 80mph on a 55mph zone... so if you dont have luck w/ speeding tickets, i suggest you get a radar...the one i have has an outside antenna..it works great!

NO, I wish I had 18's ... I have 16 Chromes sitting in my Garage, Dont fit on my Civic... I just sold my Probe...

I can't imagine there Being a Really Huge Difference Between 17" and 18" .... Granted you have to buy a more expensive low profile tire, but that should keep the Diameter within reason, so your not sitting up to high. As for the width ... Some 18"s still come in 7" wide... but you still might need a fender tuck... but that's not bad.... As for Weight .... SCREW IT, BUY CHROME !!!

And Swift's right 16" is optimal for speed... i read it in SCC couple months ago . But I had the 16" chrome on my Probe and the only thing I could think is ..... "Next time I spend That much money ... I"m buying 20"s "
