Sometimes it sucks being tall

So yeah...I was walking upstairs to go out and catch a smoke but forgot my cigarettes. On the bottom step I turned around and smacked my fucking head into the beam over the staircase. Our basement is finished so the beam is plaster-covered, but holy shit it hurt. Not so much right now...but it's one of those things where you go "fuck...that'll hurt tomorrow". Another 1 or so lower and I would've nailed my eye. Sometimes it sucks being 6'4".

I'm 6 foot and have had that problem with basements that aren't lowered. Fortunately we lowered our basement a few years back.

Being able to look over the average person is great. I really like it. I think I'm the perfect height.

Yeah...for the most part our basement has more than enough clearance, but there's a support beam that runs across the whole thing. It just happens to cross right in front of the bottom of the stairs. Really, I'm kind of disappointed I didn't dent the plaster on the beam. If I'm gonna crack my head that hard, I'd like something to show for it besides the huge lump on my forehead.

I'm only 5' 11" but working in shops growing up SUCKED... cuz I was short enough to get under like 90pct of the car w/o ducking... but those 10pct parts REALLY freaking hurt when you just walk into them w/o thinking.
