to color change yo uselect all the painted parts.. make sure you unselect all the lights.. then you go to images -> adjust -> hue/saturation.. turn the saturation all the way down

then go to images->adjust->color balance.. and change the balance of the colors, make sure you change the midtones, highlights, and shadows, and make it look realistic, and take your time..

looks good..

on the carbon fiber this is what i do

make the carbon fiber pattern 6x3 instead of 12x6

then copy the hood, make a new layer

fill it with your pattern

go to edit transform--> skew it, drag the top in, and the bottom out, rotate the carbon fiber layer about 30 degrees..

then ctrl click on your hood layer, go to select, inverse, delete..

then ctrl click on your hood layer again

go to multiply in your layer options drop down bar..

then go to your hood layer with the selection on the hood.. go to images -- > adjust --> hue saturation drag the saturation down til its maybe 1/8 of an inch from the left..

then copy the carbon fiber layer, re paste it

rotate that layer about 5 degrees.. or less.. then select Hard Light out of the layer option drop down

and it will look real..

sorry if it doesnt make sense.. makes sense to me tho
