accord coupe V6 98-2002

for all of you that have this car, how satisfied are you with looks and speed?

what have you done to the car under the hood?
supercharge, turbo?

do you have manual or automatic?

Im thinking about purchasing this car, maybe 2001 EX V6 coupe. As far as looks go i think this car is a beauty. All you gotta do is add a body kit (Black widow most likely) and some nice crome 19's, maybe a wing and your all set. But im having doubts because i dont really know how fast this car is. Im not thinking about drag racing or anything. It's mostly gonna be for show but i also wanna be able have a good amount of speed on it. Maybe in the 14's or so.

I also wanted to know the difference between turbo and supercharger. I know that turbo has something to do with the amount of air going to the engine and if you go above 8 spi on a stock engine youll blow it. Does turbo decrease the life of an engine?

Thanks for the input.

dude i don't have the car but i drove a lot of them. i'm pretty impressed with the car, the way it looks and the way it handles. and i'd say it's pretty quick too. it's only 200hp and about the same torque. the only thing i don't like about the v6 is that it's not available in a 5 speed or 6 speed manual.

Turbo: compresses air with the help of a turbine which runs on your exhaust gasses, thus creating more backpressure.

Supercharger compresses the air that goes int othe engine with the help of a pulley which will rob a few horses from the carnk but, it does not matter which way you go (turbo or sc) the power gains will otweight the losses.

both of the FI modes will shorten the life of an engine no matter what, but that can be avoided with proper tuning.

and one more thing: chrome wheels are soa heavy and if u want your car to be fast i'd say forget about them

go with aluminum wheels that have ion-metallic coating. it looks just like chrome but is a hell of a lot lighter.
