Well, I know Jackson Racing makes a supercharger for the 95 del Sol. I know there are turbo kits for the del Sol. You will have to ask delsolvtec. He has a turbocharged del Sol.

Turbokits.com has a turbo kit for the del Sol, but it is almost 4 grand, so I would wait to hear from delsolvtec.

GReddy makes great turbos for the sol. It's the same platform as the 92-95 civic. CHeck them. Don't go supercharger. Go turbo. Way better..

Well, not necessarily. No lag on superchargers. There are a few other reasons, but I am not going to start that debate up again. Just do your homework, and you will know which one to get.

Purchase a Greddy kit for a 92-95 Civic. Considering the motors are exactly the same. I'm assuming you have the D16Z6 motor. The kit fits like a glove with no modification at all. It makes a considerable difference at 5psi, but the boost can be turned up as far as 10psi with the proper modifications to support boost. I ended up going with the following setup to produce aprox. 240hp.

Greddy turbo kit with TD04 turbo
Apexi twin chamber blow off valve
Greddy front mount intercooler
Apexi VAFC
AEM Fuel Rail
B&M Fuel flow modifier
BBK Fuel Pump
catco cat
2.5" exhaust with straight through canister
Arias forged low compression pistons with total seal rings
Greddy 2mm head gasket
HKS megaflow filter
low temp thermostat and fan switch
Exceedy clutch and Fidanza lightened flywheel
MSD blaster ignition coil, cap, wires
Zex spark plugs for NOS, Turbo, SC apps
thermotec wrapped downpipe

There are a few other things, but I can't remember right now. Just remember to beef things up a bit before going with a turbo, your factory clutch is going to burn out faster and if you turn up the boost on stock internals with no intercooler you will crack pistons, fry rings, blow head gaskets etc..

Best of luck..

And a picture for your viewing pleasure..

You can debate all you want. Hands down a turbo will have more power potential. The only thing you can really do with a S/C is change the size of the pulley for a small amount in boost increase. With a turbo you can swap the turbo out, have the turbo reworked, adjust boost etc..

It does however depend on what you are looking for, with my TD04 there is virtually no turbo lag, boost starts around 1700rpm and continues to redline. With a supercharger you are going to have instant boost, just not as much boost.

I am not argueing for the SC, I mean hell, I plan on getting a turbo as well. I was just pointing out that the turbo is not all supreme. There are advantages to the SC. Like you said, it all depends on what you are looking for.

You can spend the 4K + on that setup or you can spend 1500$ on the greddy setup and go for a bunch of other extras such as pistons, head gasket, rings, rods, clutch etc..

It's up to you, but I must say that I'm extremely happy with the setup I have.

I have a question for you delsolvtec, if you don't mind. How much torque did you get from the Greddy kit? How about hp? Hp isn't as important, but just for curiosity's sake.

You should buy a kit for the 99 Civic SI then. It has basically the same exact motor. Give greddy a call or shoot them an email, they will be able to fill you in on the best kit for your needs.

delsolvtec isn't argueing either. he just knows from experience that turbo's are better. So do I. I have 2 friends here in the city that are pretty much turbo guru's. If you don't believe me.

There is one simple fact.

The power potential of a turbo on a small engine is greater then the power potential of a supercharger. If we were talking american V8s then I would say go for the supercharger, but this is Hondas we are talking about. If you want off the line boost response with a top end that dies, then go with a supercharger. If you want minor boost lag but a car that boosts all the way to redline then get a turbo. With a turbo you can do more, there is more room to modify the setup.

They are full of crap man. The kit for the civic with the B16 will fit like a glove. Trust me. They told me they didn't have a single cam sol kit either and the 92-95 single cam civic kit fit perfect with no modifications.

Most of the basic Greddy kits don't come with intercoolers, but what did you expect for under $2K? The intercoolers run about 5-700$ on top of the turbo kit. You should also look into a turbo timer and blow off valve, both relatively inexpensive.

any exhaust you pick is going to work fine. With a DOHC motor I would recommend a 2.5" - 3" exhaust though, and a high flow cat. I would go custom and have a muffler shop weld it together for you. It will save you money in the long run. Best of luck with boostin, let me know how it turns out.
