IS manual really better than automatic ??

I am planning to do an h22 swap on my 94 auto accord EX... but was wondering is it worth it to convert to manual instead of the cheaper route to keep it auto... WIll it make the car that much faster ?? Horsepower wise and also quarter mile wise ??

With the spare money i save from the keeping it auto i could invest in some headers, intake, exhaust, pistons, cams, etc. to add more horsepower. RIght ?

get the manual. alot more control and less horsepower loss through the tranny.

It really is worth it. You'll want a manual if you're looking for a faster car.

it won't necessarily make u faster HP wise, but you will have more control of ur RPM's etc...

but if you are gonna save for the auto -- manual swap, why not save up some more and get a 5speed H22 motor @ the same time..

I'm an old muscle car guy, just starting to play with front drivers, but I read a comparision where they tested an automatic and a manual back to back in a camaro (the same day!). Anyway, there was a noticable difference in the 1/4 times, with the autobox costing about 30 hp.
