94 civic vs some audi...
Well i was driving down this 4 lane road a when all of a sudden this audi flys up on me then switchs to the other lane and starts to pace me... Well i ingored him for a bit till we came to a light. When i looked over its some stupid kid, he doesn't look at me doesn't rev or anything just sits there staring straight ahead, so i figured he didn't wanna race he was just being an ass.
So the light turns green and start to go (not a race go, just a normal go) and he was at my door, then all of a sudden i see his car lunge back then almost right away he was even with me. I was still in 1st gear running at 3k so i punched and put him back at my door and started to pull then i hit 6800 rpms (redline) i go to shift to second and snapped my short throw shifter right under the shift knob. Needless to say i didn't make second..and he beat me my night sucks...i also have something else wrong with my car ontop of me snapping the dam shifter.. |

i just drove it around for about an hour and handed a newer blazer his ass....I must say i like it like this ALOT more. It seem tighter and the throws are noticbly shorter...Also after i looked at the pice again its only about an inch off.

need to leave those audi's alone.....they are the most feared thing on the autobaun here..... imagine going 130 mph and a audi STATION WAGON pulls up on your tail flashing you..... audi's are not lightweights...unless you make some serious power leave them alone.

Well maybe you are talking about a 10 year old Audi, but the A4, A6, A8 and TT will own you. The A8 is an aluminum body with about 350 or so hp. We just bought a TT and looked at all of these. TT runs about 14.1 in the quarter. That's your best bet. |

You must shift pretty hard. I have some cheapy and its lasted a good while.
Nice job on "version 2" of the short shifter.

What kind of Audi?
I had an old 86 4000cs quattro. It was pretty fast. The engine was a small 5cyl 2.2 litre that put out 115 horse. It was a pretty close race against an EX but the Audi usually won. Shouldnt happen considering the EX has more horse power and is about 600 pounds lighter, guess it may have had something to do with AWD, if you launched with quattro, the tires hardly spin and the car gets up to speed very quickly

Re: What kind of Audi?
The tires never spin with the quattro. And 14.3 is actually best in the TT. Audi makes a quick little car. It's actually my wifes, and with some mods want to get it to 300hp.

cool just asking, cause i was reading motor trend and they threw an aftermarket exhaust and intake and suspension on and it only ran a string of mid 14's and a 14.4

Maybe if your car is modded and it was a 180hp TT. Other than that they are quick. Especially if you are talking about the A6 and up. And the 225's with $1500 in mods can get upwards of 275hp. They even have ones with VR6 motors making 500+ hp if you are willing to foot the $30,000. What are your mods?

If it was a 1.8 it was turboed. Audi seems to make all 14.5 second 1/4 mile cars. They are all quick nowadays. And if it wasn't a TT then a A4? A6? I don't think so. Sorry but: |

Audi TT's are not really that quick, now a S4 has potential, and a RS4/RS6 are just plain fast.
225hp AWD TT's run high 14's, the only stock Audi's to run mid 14's are the S8 and the A6 TT. |

What he said. Yes they are low 14 second cars. With about $1500 they are in the 13's with no problem. Read a little about it. Before I bought mine I did a lot a research with consumer reports and read a lot of lit on it. |

BTW, the 2000 Audi TT Quattro runs a 16.2 which is about where my civic is...so tell me again why i can't beat one? Is it because you said so? or wait you were just looking for an arugment so you though you would come into my thread and just babble non-senese and not know what you were talking about?

The final word....
Well, having owned an Audi, parents owned Audis, relatives owned Audis, and a member to the Audiworld forum, I would say I know a bit about these cars. First of all If it was a older Audi you raced (80s), there are a few FWD, Auto cars you could have beaten. They run about a high 10 0-60 mph. If it was an newer Audi, I guess you could have beaten a Auto, A6, 2.3 litre. those run a high 9, and you could have beaten a cabriolet, which runs a 10.3. Otherwise anything else would have smoked you.

Yes 0-60
Heh, I doubt an A6 could run a 9 sec 1/4 mile, yes they are all 0-60 times.

Please.. you are making a fool of yourself by just making up bs. Wher did you get 16.2??? I searched the net for 4 seconds and got some times quickly off consumer reports. Try a 0-60 at 6.2 and a quarter mile time of 14.4. BTW Car and Driver confirms those same times, and Road and Track had the 0-60 mile time the same, and the 1/4 mile time at 14.2. |
