my car: 02 honda civic coupe ex - manual tranny

i bought this shift knob and the glow works great. but when i screw it on, there is thread left where it doesnt screw down as far as factory. there are two verticle clips that hold the shift boot up built into the factory knob. this one doesnt have those clips. does anyone know how to get the boot to stay up without lookin like a P.O.S. seems like it would be a common problem among honda civicsof my year

I've seen a number of people just leave the boot wherever it wants to sit.....I'd have to actually see the boot to really brainstorm on holding it up.

I have a momo boot and knob (knob not installed right now) and I just let the boot sit wherever. It usually touches the knob, but I don't think it really matters.

Some people just electrical tape. They tape around the shifter until there is enough tape that the shift boot will hol on to. And its black so you can't see it. If it doesn't work out then just take it off. No commitments.

I have a question about the light up knob, I just bought one, not like yours, but I don't know how to hook it up. I was thinking about runing the power wire to a toggle switch, and then hooking it up to the power wire in the back of the cig lighter. Then just running the ground to metal. That way I can turn the light on when ever. I really don't know though. Tell me what you guys think

ide tie it in to your headlights, so when they turn on, youre set with the shift

be sure not to screw it down too far. i did, and it crushed the circuit board. apparently the nut was there to stop it from doin that. i sold it for what i bought it, so i lost no money. just time.
