MSD distributor cap installation

I am probably the stupidest person alive!

Alright, I have an MSD distributor cap and it didn't come with any instructions. Now, inside the cap, there is this red plastic circle thing. Do I need to remove it to put on the cap? Because it seems like I have to force on the cap to bolt it down and I don't know if I should do that. Is there something wrong with my cap?

sorry for the probably "very easy to answer" question. But.....I'm retarded (tommy boy)

thanks in advance,

aj

where is the red plastic thing ? Is it on the brushes ? Usually the cap should go fairly easy in there.

Just got my new cap today. That red thing is wierd. Hopefully I'll get it in tonight or tomorrow.

How long did it take you to install yours? Seems fairly straight forward.

yea, you got to take out the stock coil.

it took me about an hour for the whole ignition install.

that includes the cap, coil, ignition, and wires.

good luck,

aj

it was hard to find room for me too!

I installed mine on the firewall, right behind the intake manifold.
