I just put an injen cold air intake on my civic a few weeks ago, and after the rain we got here in NY yesterday and today, i began to get worried about possible water in the filter. I got home a few min ago, looked underneath, the filter looked a lil wet so i disconnected the tubes and sure enough there was a little condensation on the inside. Is this something to be worried about? Should i pull the lower half of the intake and put the filter up top until theres nice weather? I called injen and they said that the filter pretty much is ok unless u submerge it... well... maybe theyre wrong... who knows... i sure as hell dont... any info ASAP would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks

You should be fine unless you actually submerge it. I talked with a guy from AEM awhile ago about this. He has a slammed Civic, and he installed an AEM CAI and forgot to put the splash guard back on afterward. He drove through major rain, and the filter got wet, but there was no damage at all. You just don't want the engine to hydrolock.

what exactly does hydrolock mean?..like does it seize up cause of the water getting into it? or what?

yup

Think of a normal C/R. Determined by the piston, blah blah. Now stick some water in the cylinder and slam the piston down. Water is virtually incompressible, so you can see where a problem may arise...

With the amount of condensation in your filter, you are fine. I live in Kentucky and it rains enough here. I have an AEM CAI and have never had a problem with anything. I drive my car everywhere, through big puddles, in the snow/ice. No problems.
