questions about 1.6 d16y7

whats up guys i've got some questions about my 98 civic lx. I've got a 1.6 d16y7 and i'm curious as to weather i can strap a vtec head onto my block and if so what else would i kneed besides the vtec control module and the wiring harness?

and if i cant do that, what would be involved into droping a whole vtec engine into her? would i need to swap transmissions too? etc.

any help you guys or girls could give me would be cool

later for now

in order to put a vtec motor into your car you need to figure out what you want, the most obvious bet would be a b16a3 or a b18c1

the b16a3 comes from a 99-01 civic si
the b18c1 comes from a integra gsr 94+

Now, if you buy these motors you normally get a package which has the tranny, mounts, wires, etc, etc

As for slapping a vtec head on a non-vtec motor
this is very possible you can use the ex motor 1.6 sohc

you have to run a oil feeder line, vtec solenoid, and then wire it up

Make sure the knock sensors and everything else are ok..

some common problems is that its not put back together at the correct specs and oil leaks and stuff, I recomend just getting a swap if you really want to haul butt
