feul gauge not working

I have a 1992 civic cx. ibought a gauge cluster from an si and i broke the pointer off the gas guage (putting gauge faces on) before i even put it in so i bought a new feul/heat gauge. now i put it in the other one in and the pointer stayes where it is. I tested for power and there is some and i tested the sensor by grounding out the yellow/red wire to see if the gauge worked and neither seemed to work so i got another one under warranty and put it in and this one doesn't even work.

what can i do?
any help would be appreciated
P.S. The gauge off the old cluster worked.

you tried a direct oem replacement? How long did you let the car warm up when you tested it?

Is this what you bought as a replacement?

Wait...is it the temp or fuel thing that isnt working...or is it the entire section?

(I hope i understand right - you bought an si cluster, needle broke, you bought a new entire fuel/temp section and that didnt work)

1) hmm...well if you had replaced the actual unit then there must be something wrong with the rest of the cluster unit...

2) Where did you get the replacement section? If you can, send it back for an exchange or a refund so you can get one that works

3) Next, I guess you could try putting in the original cluster's temp gauge in the si cluster and see if that works

well...about the only thing i can think of is to find someone that has a working cluster and try out their section in yours...other than that I have no idea

you could take your current replacement back and get another...it might be a dud...then if the 2nd one doesnt work then you know its something in the cluster itself
