Blown Y8

Piston #4 on my Y8 block

Top left has a 3/8 inch chunk missing. Also the intake and exhaust valves for that cylinder are bent.

The Z6 head:
I relapped the valves and cleaned the crap out of it. I might also go ahead port and polish the exhaust ports. I'm not sure yet, since I caught a flu today. I learned that Y8 VTEC solenoid and Z6 VTEC solenoid is not interchangeable. The bolt holes dont match. If this shit doesnt work, I'm gonna go ahead go a different route. Sell this whole turbo set-up and get either a full GSR swap or build myslef and LSVTEC. Who knows, I might even boost it. For now, I just need tohave a reliable daily driver....

well if all fails therm, just get a b16 or something for cheap and you could make it into a civic Si. I always wanted to do that.

Heh, thanks. Also notice my sig, i finally can navigate photoshop a little.

what'd you do for all motor mods?

My plans are:
*set of cams (haven't decided yet because that's so far in the future it's rediculous) but either Skunk 2 or Toda probably stage2
*Upgraded valvetrain, springs, retainers, the works
*clutch + flywheel
*comptech ice box
*test pipe
*hondata
*JDM Final drive possibly with gsr 5th gear (i'd go ATS 4.9, but i don't think i could stand turning 4500+ rpm at 70 mph :o )

haven't decided if i'd change pistons/rods yet... but that's the pipe dream

Ben, will you then buy my pistons and rods?

Therm: I notice that around your location, the deals are cheaper than here with bigger quantities too. What are the chances of you finding me a sleeved b20 shortblock? I no longer have the time to actually drive down to cali to get sleeved...lemme know.

My jerry rigged valve job:

I used a tubing and hooked one end to the drill and the other end to the top of the valve.... save so much time...
