Prelude vs. Semi Tire on the Highway

Basically the Semi tire won!! At 4:30 in the morning I was driving home on the highway and out of nowhere there is a huge semi tire sitting in my lane. 1 second later Smaaaaack. I pull over at the next exit and get out. Oh look it stripped my front and rear lips of my body kit off and had the passenger side skirt hanging half way off. I went back to the area and found both front and rear lip. The rear was still in good condition, it only had a minor scractch from impact on the road, but the front lip looks like aZZ. I fixed the rear lip and attached it back on, but the front lip needs to be sanded and repainted. The good news is there is no damage to the car. The body kit took the full hit.

Cliff notes: I got screwed by a semi tire.

ehh, that sucks, i had a fight with a pothole under water, it won, and a drop in a parking lot, it won also. the parking lot detached my front lip on the passengers side, and the pothole scraped my shit up. grr i need it repainted now.

Ouch, sorry to hear that. At least only the body kit took the damage.

Road hazards suck!

Quick anecdote concerning semi tires: This past summer I made a cross country trip in my former Sol, a '93 Si. Anyway, while passing a semi in the middle of the desert on I-70, one of his rear tires blew out. The whole truck swung toward the shoulder thankfully, and not toward my car. I punched it and got the hell away from him. I've always seen pieces of truck tires on the Interstate, but that was the first time I'd seen it in person. I'm just glad I passed when I did. Could've been nasty.

for some reason when i read this i thought you raced like a semi wheel or something, haha dont ask...i just woke up :P

but that sucks about how it tore up most of your kit, but better than wheel/tire/suspension damage imo and at least you could salvage the rear w/o paint.

I don't think any of the mods really made it pull that much harder. The pulleys added some low end for $120 I think they were my favorite mod. I got more pull in midrange when I put the header on, but I haven't raced the car since I put it on so I don't know if it really made that much of a difference.
