since youre almost @ 200k miles It could just be its time for that gasket to just go a natural way of death...worn out (or not)

miss-shifting like...what?
Grind a gear? That wont do it
Screw up and go for 5->4 and instead go 5->2? That may blow a head gasket...and it will blow other things too (like holes in your block)

if youre worried about a blown gasket, change the oil and look for coolant in it (you can try to do it by just the dipstick...but I never could that way). Depending on if the gasket is dead, the oil will certainly look different than it should (some say its like mayo)

sorry it took so long to get back to you, what happend was i was driving. and i went to go from 3rd(redined) to fourth but i want into second, , when i get it home i noticed the oil that was leaking (not a new problem, have a bad oil-plug) had a greyish hue to it. it looked like the oil that we drained out of my brothers 90 t-bird, where the head gasket blew at 50mph at the track, white smoke everywhere. that leads me to another thing, it didn't smoke!!

allright, whew, what a relief, i checked my oil and it is fine, today i took it to my friend at his shop and have his "TRAINED MECHANICS" look at it and the reason the oil that leaked out was that greyish color was because i had a loose heater hose, and when my engine heated up it popped off and happend to drop down on the same puddle of oil under my car, it traveled down the same path and wham the greyish color, killed two birds with one stone, got a new oil plu and a new heater hose for 25 cents (labor lol). took it for a test drive and car runs like a raped ape ohyeh!!!! thanks for the help.

also i do need a new head/valve/and other gaskets, because they are all original, so that is what i will do for my winter break.
