Clear plexi hood 88-91 civic

Has anyone seen these hoods. They look tight. Anyone know of fitment, quality etc.? Are they heavy? I'd love to show off my bay after the swap.

I question their use as a daily thing, show only. The ones i have seen are cool, yes, but don't seeem practical, plus because of their design, there is no bracing of any kind, GAURANTEED billowing at speed. nah. not fer me. cool if the bay is all that, but otherwise....no

Those things would be awful for a daily driven car not to mention they are just screaming... "HEY LOOK AT MY MOTOR, ITS AN EXPENSIVE SWAPED ONE, AND IM PROBABLY FAST... PLEASE STEAL ME!!!"

Screw that... Id rather get a CF hood.

you are speaking of te Showums clear hoods. they are also available in colors and neons. Indeed they are strictly for show use. They also provide you w/ a case for it when not in use...

I think they are cool if you have a clean and worhty engine it's hella good.

you can go to http://www.importfan.com/ and see them they are 699 there....

I can't find my other link w/ a more descriptive image and details..

I'll keep looking.....

Like everyone said, it would be cool for show only (only if you had an EXTREMELY nice engine bay too), but I wouldn't even think of using it on a daily basis.

Its not so much about people going to steal your ride.. By looking at many pictures of it.. Most of the time the hood has a HUGE gap on the sides.. Meaning it doesnt lay down completely.. Air will build up and fling the hood into the air... ANd prolly kill someone
