Phone # Formula

I got this in an email and thought it was interesting. Just goes to show you that some people have way to much time on their hands. I apologize if it's a repost, I know how you guys get.

1) Key-in the first 3 digits of your phone number into the
calculator (not your area code)
2) Multiply by 80
3) Add 1
4) Multiply by 250
5) Plus last four digit of phone number
6) Plus last four digit of phone number again
7) Minus 250
8) Divide by 2

that thing dont work if your phone number only has 1 digit in the last 4 digit of your phone number. for example. 123-0020. try it..it'll come out 123-0002!!!

common guys ...look at the phone number VERY closely

ORIGINAL # = 123-0020

RESULT # = 123-0002

those are 2 totally different phone numbers.

Ok...I wouldn't have bothered to do this if I weren't completely bored out of my mind right now. but I redid the math again and starting out with the original number 123-0020...ok here it goes

1. was to multiply the first 3 digits (123) by 80. This gives you 9840.

2. Add one to that answer...so 9840+1=9841.

3. Multiply 9841 by 250. This gives you 2460250.

4. Add 0020 to 2460250. This equals 2460270.

5. Add 0020 to 2460270. This equals 2460290.

6. Subtract 250 from 2460290. This giving you 2460040.

7. Divide 2460040 by 2....this gives you 1230020.

Which I'm pretty sure that 123-0020 and 123-0020 are the same number. I even used a calculator and did the actual math on paper. It works. And you all know now how boring York truely is!

Ahhh yes...2 does not equal 20

For the formula on a whole...I think it's a f@ckin conspiracy.
