It's probably a legal issue. Like on flamethrower kits, it says for offroad use only. I think their hoods say that too. I wouldn't listen.

By the way.... Is it just me or does the underside of the roof look like the roof off of a jdm transtop del sol. If it is for the transtop, would it work on the usdm?

probably because it's intended to make a sol alittle lighter for racing purposes
but if you notice alot of products are intended for offroad, thats just so if you get in trouble with the law or if you car is damaged from it they can say "hey we warned you"
kind of a disclaimer i guess
i would like to see it on a sol tho
but is it really that necessary to make a sol that light weight? lol

They have the disclaimer because it you use lightweight parts (ie carbon fiber and fiberglass) on street cars, you run the risk of it flying off and causing damage (which is why you need hood pins on cf hoods).

Sols are actually pretty heavy for their size...around the heft of a ek coupe.

VIS is an American Company (with absolutely shitty customer service), so this top is not designed for transtops. I assume it installs similarly to the glass tops - which utilize facory parts and just removing the top steel section.

Oh, and a lot of people actually replace moonroof glass panels w/ cf sheets as well (along w/ removing all other parts too, of course). This is definately not really designed for weight savings...more of a bling thing.

Oh, and this should really have gone in the Civic section - since del sols are civics (theyre eg's)
