Sure why not, if they want to do the swap with you also.

i was reading another post were someone was told to find an hx but that was for an older hatch i was only guessing i could find an engine and figured it would be cheaper. Plus dont want to wait another year to swap or have to get rid of my car attached

I dont think 7th gen civics can take a b-seires motor.... can they?

I think they're in a whole new class of their own.

You can either look on ebay for an engine that fits your car (that comes with tranny ecu , etc..) but you will need to find shift linkage, and a bunch of minor stuff to make it a stick.

yea, so your best bet would be to look for engines out of salvaged vehicles whether it be on other forums or on ebay. Whenever purchasing on ebay make sure the user atleast has some kind of website, and some good feedback.

7th gen civics have the D 17 engine, and the few that have had engine swaps have had the K20 engine put in. if you do that, seeing as you want a stick, just get the whole swap (engine and tranny). otherwise your gonna be messing with a gearbox to get it to get 6 gears out of 5.
heres a link to site that did the k20 swap into a 7th gen its the 7th gen SI but it shouldnt be too different

if swapping for a 6 speed a new tranny would suffice the problem of 5 gear old..or 4 in your case...everything old goes...everything new in...youd be set (get an RSX type S engine)
