speedometer

ok my speedometer has problems. it will cut out and quite working. it does this about 30% of the time.

it didnt happen till i install my cd player. is the wires to the speedometer that close to the cd player i could have kn ock them loose or is the vss bad?

If your VSS is bad, you will get a CEL. It looks like the signal is just either interrupted or shorted. I had the same problem. I ran a separate wire straight to where the signal is coming from the ECU, then to the gauge.

chances are that it's a wire comming out of your ecu and going to the gauge cluste because like arnel said if it's actually a vss wire it'd throw a CEL. So i'd be looking between gauge cluster and ecu.
